I'm a newbie
We have just purchased a Burnster Harmony 625 year 2002 1st Motorhome for us as we have always had caravans.
Have not used it yet getting it ready for our 1st trip to try her out.
Just wondered if any body else on this forum has 1 and if so what do they think about it?

We will have had ours (registered 2003) 10 years in February.
We have had some problems with damp ingress along the seams and through the roof vent mounting but have hopefully overcome that by oversealing and regular checking.
We also found the table mounting inconvenient so (as there are only 2 of us and so don't need the second bed) I replaced the mounting frame with a pedestal leg (kept the original mounting for replacement if required at a later date).
We have looked at plenty of other vans over the years but never found anything that suits us better.

Thankyou for your reply. We too have found problem with damp ingress in exactly same place but hopefully hubby sorted so will keep a check on it. Funny you mention the table as that is what we are doing. The table is too big too heavy and in the way so we will also replace. We did the same in our Hobby caravan we replaced with a round table so much easier. Would you mind sending a photo of how you have done yours? The other type of motorhome we looked at was the Autocruise Wentworth which was a nice layout. Hope we have made the right choice.

I hope these photos are OK.
We wanted to keep the same table top but because it is hollow at the centre I had to glue a piece of timber to its underside. That was actually an advantage as it made it about an inch higher :) The base plate is fastened to the floor where the original table locking plate was.
The leg is the Redwood. Google Redwood island table leg and you'll find a few sellers at different prices. It's advantage is that (unlike some other brands) it locks in place so we can leave the table set up rather than having to take it down and stow it for transit.

Another mod I did was to mount a curtain pole behind the kitchen and in front of the wardrobe/bed (I had one pole socket and used a flexible walking stick foot for the other end). Jill likes to get up later than me so I can draw the curtain and not disturb her in a morning.

Brilliant idea.

I have a T615 which is similar, had it nearly 7 years. Have made a smaller dinette table as there's only the two of us, we also have a curtain the same place you and one blocking off the cab. Mines 2004 and has no airbags.

Can I just ask does your Burnster have airbags? I'm not sure if mine has.

We have a driver airbag but that's all.

Jill made curtains to hang from the rail round the cab (i.e. between the reversed seats and the doors/dash). They go right down to the floor and fit together with Velcro dots to stop draughts.

Yes I had new curtains made for all windows and the cab front.

Please may I ask another question ? How do we take the spare wheel out from underneath?

Your spare wheel carrier is the same as ours on our 2005 plate T680. There's every chance that it's all rusted up, unless the previous owners have looked after it ?
If you're mechanically minded, get it up on some decent axle stands and have a go at dropping it down in the comfort of your own drive (if not, take it to a friendly garage)
It took me a while and a lot of wire brushing, penetrating fluid and skinned knuckles to get ours free.
The long threaded bolts got a liberal coating of Copperslip anti seize compound that has served them well on the two occasions I've had to use the spare.

Hubby said he will take your advice and try getting it off in driveway. Previous owner not done much to it.

Hi Graham, Do you use an invertor if so what type and size?

Hi Graham, Do you use an invertor if so what type and size?
We are not heavy users of electricity, taking only phones/cameras/laptops/tablets/ereaders with us. I changed all the lamps to LED when we got the van.
The only thing we use a (small) inverter for is to charge camera batteries for which there is no 12v option.
Everything else we can charge from the 12v system, powered by a 80W solar panel on the roof.
In changed the cigarette lighter plug on a couple of multi-socket 12v adapters to a Hella one.

Did Jill buy the rail to fit or is there a specific place to buy one or did you have one in place ?
