Broken fly screen string (1 Viewer)

Anyone have any instructions if it’s possible to repair the string?. The bottom one as come out of the casing at the side.

This is a problem I’v seen a few times now, even on a brand new Danbury at a show. I know the fly screens are repairable but with such a long pull across a PVC door I think this is likely to be quite common in time with more and more manufacturers fitting them.
I had a look at alternatives and came across a fly screen from Van Comfort, It is a Hindermann product, page 28 on their catalogue, unfortunately they do not show a picture of it now, only a description. It looks like the new ones now have a magnetic connection to the van. On the two ( V Lines 610 and 635 ) we have owned the screens were attached by Velcro and press studs. The screen in our present V Line ( 635 ) is now nearly 3 years old and has been well used and is showing no sign of deterioration.
If I remember the cost was about £175 plus p&p.
I have no interests in Van Comfort but I am a satisfied customer and just advising on an alternative.

Is the flyscreen for the hab door, side window or roof light?
Any idea of the make?
What make of motorhome are we dealing with?

I took it was the side door, that is the only one I could think of that had a “ lower “ string.

Hi, we had the same with our door fly screen, and being a van conversion it's easy to remove, slide the ends off , we used braided kevlar we think was 1.5 mm but probably a smaller size would be better, ours is a bit stiff but dog proof.
There's 2 cords it's easy to do once removed. Bob.

maclouis361 I have instructions for the Hartel door fly screen from the MMM magazine. PM me if you want them. I think they will all be similar. I would advise not starting to fix it until you've read the instructions. The threading is a bit complicated and if its only the bottom string that's snapped you may not have to unravel the whole lot.

I replaced a broken cord on a Hartel door screen took the frame out and dismateled it on the lounge floor. It was an easy job (apart from getting the frame out) I used kelvar kite line.

Now that's just reminded me last time out cord broke on the windscreen privacy blind. I will order some cord but although the blind comes out easy working out how it is strung is not that easy compared to a door.

I don't suppose anyone else has done the job?

Had it out when it went but couldn't do anything about it in the van.
