Broadband through water mains

Good idea; when the service falls below the level the various ISPs promise, we can all chorus 'Bloody shower!' and exit stage left ensemble :LOL:

It would make sure sense to put them through the drains - keep all the crap in the same place :LOL:
It was trialled about 15 years ago. Dubbed 'shitnet'. A robot ran down the pipes, using a spring-clip that popped out and tried to pin the fibre to the top of the pipe. I've not heard much about it since.

It would probably trap "solids" and cause blockages, whereas hopefully none of that in the rising main.
 
All that fibre, the pipes will never block up!🤪

BT are well in front of the game.

On a road near us the fibre cable has been thrown into a small stream.

Openreach in Shrewsbury has paid local artists to decorate the roadside junction boxes, looks very nice, I'm hoping they're going to pay someone to sort the broadband speed out next - am I deluded :banghead:
