Hope someone can help taking the van for a 8 week trip to northern Spain and and the Algarve etc in May and June was going to drive through France but now looking at Plymouth to Santander .Have not ever used,is it worth joining the club for savings or does anyone have a code I can use we may not book for a few weeks.
Thanks for any help

How much and are people happy to disclose their code ?
Possibly thinking of Portsmouth to Cherbourg later in the year
You can get 10% off the fare but it doesn't apply to the cost of cabin, only the vehicle fare. The doner of the code gets £10. It's probably against BF rules as it's supposed to be for "friends and family" but we are all friends on here. :)

Does the Spanish members code give the discount from the French crossings and vice versa

Are you sure about that?

As far as I'm aware, only Cub Voyage members for the BF France crossing can pass on a friends & Family discount. And you can tell the difference as the France members code begins with an F, not an S.

Shoot me down if I'm wrong.......

Just booked Portsmouth to Caen. I was unhappy with the £550 cost as previous week had been much lower so I logged on to the Brittany ferries french website. Same trip, same time, same vehicle £427. I emailed Brittany to ask if there would be any issues booking through their French website and had a very nice reply saying no problem just check the terms and that I had the correct sailings . No issues there so booked

You can use the French or Spanish Club Voyage membership for French or Spanish crossings.

yes it is correct, you can use either and you get UP TO 10% off the crossing, I have put that in large print as just occasionally at peak times the discount is 5%. I am a Spanish club member so get 30% off but a friend who uses my number frequently for French crossings as does their son have found that in August they sometimes only get 5% off.

Very grateful for these discount codes in the past but i found as a CAMC member that they are usually more than 10% cheaper than the BF website.
Wish I had thought of lookng at the French website though!

From about May or thereabouts they are changing to a new system with no less than three different types of ticket. If you are absolutely sure your dates won't change you could go for the cheapest one but if there is doubt you might be advised to go for the more expensive. If like us, your trip straddles the introduction of the change you won't be able to book a return and will have to book each crossing as one way. Outwards under the current system and the return under the new one.

Thanks just one question do the codes have a time to be used on

No as long as the member has paid their subscription

All these years we’ve been using BF and never realised there was a french website o_O. Feeling v silly! Does my club membership (bought through uk site) work for the french sure too?

Do you want confirmation of that ? :giggle:

It is a French Co. - clue is in 'Brittany'

And the answer to your question?
No!
One cannot use a BF Club Voyage code obtained from BF (UK) to obtain a discount obtained from a BF (France) website.
The disparity in price between the two sites (above) gives an 'obvious' answer. Well it's obvious from a BF point of view.

for northern Spain we use Newhaven Dieppe 10% of for old age easier boarding than other ports haven't tried but believe you can use Tesco vouchers, book direct though mate tried with both clubs and both were dearer than the fares I got (y)

I didn't know anything about discount codes as we are quite new to this, but have just booked a ferry crossing from Santander to Portsmouth for May-was quite expensive for the RV-£640!

Members should not stop providing codes but do be careful. Some nasty piece of work who posts on Club Together the CAMC forum complained to Brittany Ferries and caused me a problem when I offered my code to "friends" and family :swear:

I don’t think you can use Tescos vouchers for the Newhaven Dieppe crossing unfortunately with DFDS but you could for Dover to France. Have they reduced the over 60’s discount, it used to be 20%? You do have to phone to get the discount, applies to students and people with disabilities.
I’ve just checked and it’s still 20%.

I hadn't checked lately and have to confess to my dearly beloved doing most of our bookings?
