just had renewal from RAC for breakdown cover been with them since 1995 had 2 call outs in that time. Last year we had it discounted to£191 .Renewal this year£378 so I rang them again and their best deal £352 a reduction of£52 what are my options. Thanks in advance.

Sorry reduction of £26

Green Flag through C&MC a lot cheaper.

Your #1 option is kick them into touch.
They are taking the piss with almost everyone's renewal premiums.
My 1st year with RAC ARRIVALS was £80, renewal £130, next renewal over £200......told them to sit and spin.
Try getting a quote as a new member, it may be a lot cheaper... Or maybe not.

There was a similar post recently regarding RAC renewals.
Over the past few years I had paying £140 for the Arrival Membership.
This year £267.
Phoned up and the woman said they had been called to a meeting that day and had been instructed that the web price if £235 was the lowest they could go.
I couldn't get my head around the size of the increase so called them again.
This time the guy said he could improve on the £235 and do it for £215.
After more discussions he dropped it to £170. At that I still needed to be a member of the C&CC.
Told them to stick it.
Moved to Green Flag for £134
Then cancelled the C&CC membership which I never use to save another £40.

Going to give green flag a ring tomoro just to see

im with adrain flux, what, u give them one last shot,pj

Ta, I’ll have a ring round tomoro

i am with autohome for a 7m van(and i was with my previous 4.5m), make sure you tell any company you try exactly what vehicle you have ....weight and size
always check any recovery included with insurance as it is normally very basic...ie get you off motorway and thats it..i am insured with caravanguard with 'recovery' included but i would never use it due to its restrictions
