That is a weird one which brings in the "is it a camper van or a motorhome debate" because strangely RAC have no size or weight restrictions UNLESS it is classed as a camper van which are limited to 3.5t.RAC through Caravan and Camping club take on any size and any weight
I have AA cover through Safeguard insurance. They have moved my 6m van on their breakdown truck.
There aren't many to choose from - RAC through Caravan and Camping club take on any size and any weight - I think there is a small discount going through the club. I just paid including European cover £222
My first year with RAC ARRIVALS ....£80 for 7500kg RV, UK onlyWe got cover for ours from RAC. We had to take the cover through the camping and caravan club as they don’t do the cover if you go direct. It’s called the RAC Arrival package.
We were abroad when there was a discussion on here about some confusion about the cover provided by N/Wide re vehicles over 3.5tonnes.Nationwide Flexplus
When did this change happen, as I've had a 4.5t 'van covered by them? The over 3.5t terms were slightly different, but the cover was there. They don't do over 3.5t.. that's why after 45yrs I had to leave them and go with Mayday.
The C&MC don't provide cover for the EU through Mayday, but they do through their Red Pennant scheme. We had mayday through the C&MC but they don't cover EU. However, through our insurance with Think insurance they do an EU breakdown cover so we're all sorted. We kept the Mayday in place cause it covers our other vehicles too.
The AA do not cover over 3.5t...at least they did not when we enquired. When did this change happen, as I've had a 4.5t 'van covered by them? The over 3.5t terms were slightly different, but the cover was there.
