Breakdown cover europe for vans over 16 years?

Any ideas anyone? I have just tried to get a quote from Green flag but it refused us as van is over 16 years old.

Our 23 yr old Campervan is with Grove and Dean - breakdown and insurance together. Our 14 yr old Hymer is with Shield.

Ask your insurer if they can include it.
Mine euro breakdown cover comes packaged through AIB.

Another vote for Grove and Dean who include breakdown regardless of year. Or use a Nationwide bank account.

RAC also have no age, size or weight restrictions.

Camping and Caravan Club Arrival (via RAC) worked to tow our 1978 4900kg in France. You need the "Arrival" version to remove the weight limit. There is no age limit. You need to be a member of C&CC, but they can include 1st year's membership in the premium.

We always insure with Comfort including breakdown.Why there is an age limit I question because of what I understand a lot of newish vans have more problems than older ones like our 2002 Ford Transit.

I think I mentioned this before but our insurers provided cover for uk and abroad as an add on. Our van is not as old , 55 plate, but they were more concerned about the size. They found AA comertial recovery would cover our Rienza.

Ours is a 1992 K Reg we are with Green Flag, about £140, for all the bells and whistles!
