Hi guys, I do have problems with my Ducato 2,8. A brake problem. Brakes do heating up during as I drive. Consequently the brake pedal become hard. Problem goes away, when I step on the pedal. I replaced all four disc, brake pads, all wheel hub bearings, all brake calipers pistons, guide pins. Blead the brakes out by pumping pedal, by sucking fluid out, pumping it upvards... Still the same. From time to time will problem come back again. Recently more frequently. Has somebody any idea what could be forcing brakes to aply them self and overheating in proces?
Thanks for any tips.

Have you checked the master cylinder seals for wear?

Check the flexable brake hoses they can swell up internally and restrict the fluid return from the caliper holding the brake on

Check the brake pedal fully returns each time after braking. The last bit of travel (upwards) of the brake pedal opens the brake lines to the reservoir. If that doesn't happen residual line pressure may cause the pads to remain in contact with the discs. Drum brakes aren't affected because they have return springs (and are on a separate circuit). Otherwise suspect the master cylinder.

I’d be interested in the answer as I have the same problem in my Renault master van
it is only the rear brakes that are affected

If its only the rear brakes that are getting hot id suspect handbrake cable is seized have you jacked the van up to see if the wheels are turning freely with handbrake off?

The only parts left are hoses and master cylinder.
If it has ABS, they are equipped with a high pressure pump.

Once you know which brake is binding, crack off the bleed nipple. If fluid is ejected and the brake releases then you will have narrowed down your list of possible culprits.

New , cables / callipers / disc’s/ pads & fluid , I haven’t tried free movement since they were changed but they were free on installation, when I get a chance I’ll do the fluid again ( bought a vacuum pump ) & see what happens
