brake lights of MH not working, cannot find the fuse. its a Transit 2014, 2.2cc, model RollerTeam 200, any help as to why the lights do not come on and where could i find the fuse. Looked at the fuse box on the passenger side and engine compartment but could not find the fuse for the brake lights?
Thanks

Is there a microswitch on the brake pedal? We had an old VW automatic, it wouldn't start and the brake lights didn't come on - turned out the be the little switch was stuck, so wasn't detecting the brake pedal moving away from its stop.

There are 2 micro switches on the brake pedal and both seem to move when pedal pressed down. I have checked if there was power in the terminals but none. My understanding is that there should be power in one of the terminals!
the fuse box above is not the same as the one I have, I did check on that but cannot find a fuse box that looks like this one above.

The fuse box on the older models had 2 levels. the top one unclips & there is another underneath.Don't know if it would still be the same ?

the under bonnet one also had the same.

I will check on that

Found this link
2014-2018 transit fuse boxes

It looks from this like the 2.2 diesel has the brake lamp fuses in the Body Control Module Fuse Box and there are two fuses which split left and right, presumably so that if one goes you still have a brake light working.

It shows that there are two fuse boxes under the fascia on the passenger side of a RHD vehicle, one on the left and one on the right. You'll want the one on the left according to the diagram, and assuming this is in fact the right vehicle.

Hope this helps

Cheers,

Rob

I thought it said the third fuse box which is underneath the passenger side fuse box or am I reading this incorrectly? Unclip the top fuse box you see and underneath it should be!
Good luck

I would also check the earth as the brake lights are on a plastic panel. Do all the other rear lights work?

All other lights work. the parking lights and brake lights have the same bulb but with 2 filaments, one for parking lights and another for brake lights. All 3 brake lights (one on each side (2) plus the one above near the reverse camera do not work and it happened from one day to the other.

When I checked the micro switch for the brake pedal I found 2, one surely is for the brake light but what for is the second one? could it be for the cruise control?

yes it is for cruise control. 1 is normally open & the other normally closed. slightest touch on èdal drops out cruise. On some vehicles the N/C can also have other funstions but they are completely escaping my memory at the moment ?

If there are separate fuses it sounds like the pedal sensor. If there are two maybe ones for the brake lights the other for the cruise control.

many thanks for all input so far. i will investigate further considering all given suggestions

do you get power at the pedal switch?? remember ign on,

i checked the first switch because there are 2 and could not find current.

there are 2 fuseboxes burried under the dash, pull off the lower panel above the pedals. One is above the pedals, the body contol fuse board. The other is above to the right and easiest to access by taking out the cup holder and removing the dashboard end cover

If the fuses are good and the pedal switch working, suspect a bad earth

problem sorted blown fuse. difficult to find it but eventually got hold of it. thank you for all your suggestions. this is what is good of this forum
