‘Fes up you lot , who’s booked a campsite recently for a near future trip to beat the rush ?

We have booked some C&MC sites for early July. We were originally going in June, but obviously lost them. Not looking too good at the moment as well over 70 ?

I already have my Isle of Man TT 2 week trip booked for May 2021

And I'm just waiting for confirmation of my 2021 ferry bookings

Obviously they have been transferred from this years booking, but if they hadn't been, I would have been booking them on the 21st May anyway - to get the preferred sailing, bookings are done 53 weeks in advance

Will be looking this week to book a few sites for late July nr Bournemouth/Poole ?

We have bought some of the discounted vouchers but not booked yet, but as there is no penalty to do so, might have a go at September in Scotland , I reckon that is the earliest we will be allowed to travel

I'd be looking very closely at the terms and conditions of anything that I booked. Too many places have stated no refunds, and at best they are only offering vouchers to change a booking to something a lot later. But short term, those of us tied to work, even if we are allowed to go somewhere, are probably going to be stuck having to be gainfully employed, rather than taking holiday, to try and make up for all this time sat on our backsides.

We have booked c&mc sites for July , August and September . We don’t expect to be able to travel to Europe and its something nice to have in the diary to look forward to. if we can’t travel then cancelling the bookings is an easy thing to do .

Yup, we have booked a trip at the end of June to tie in with getting an alarm system fitted to the MH en-route. Who knows if it will come off? At least we have a trip to look forward to whilst we are locked down.
Take care and stay safe all.

I was going to get tickets for Le Mans 24 Hours in September, but got cold feet. I don't think I'll commit until travelling is allowed again, and if camping at the track is sold out by then ,I'll have to accept it.

We have just cancelled our trip to France following Macron’s announcement that France’s borders will probably stay closed until October.

We have also cancelled an appointment for warranty work, (postponed really as the dealer is closed), and the two night stay at a C&CC site associated with the repair.

We were booked for Le Classique this year which was cancelled just over a week ago. The agents in France were really good and emailed offering a refund or to rebook for 2021 at the same price.
Try Chateau Chanteloup for a campsite. It is excellent IMO. Plenty of the car clubs go there and they lay on events and a shuttle to get you to and from the track.

Which site have you booked in September and what dates?

We've still got a tunnel booking for September but expecting to have to cancel that. Already cancelled one at Easter and one for May :crying1:

We never book sites, that's not the way we roll. Euro trip obviously cancelled and have Euro tunnel refund. We were supposed to be on our way today, for a three month tour down to Croatia and back. Oh well will have to try again when we are allowed to travel again.
Stay safe everyone.

Did you get a refunds on the trips you cancelled? We've got a return journey booked for end June, with a Brittany ferry going over beginning of June. Haven't contact either of them yet but obviously will have do so at some time.

I got vouchers valid for 12 months but usable anytime after that.

not booking anything till vaccine is fund living is more important than any holiday bit of wild camping away from every one

Thanks for the tip and I'll bear the site in mind. I've been a few times before and I like the freedom of being adjacent to the track, so I can go back and forth in the middle of the night. I've been with car clubs before, in different cars, but prefer to make my own way there and stop off when I feel like it. I went in the van to the Classic in 2018. It was hot. I actually prefer Spa Classic to Le Mans Classic.

The vouchers are valid for 12 months from the date they were issued so one was just before Easter and the other valid to 15.04.21 so hopefully we can book for Easter next year and then 2 weeks in summer next year.
Not a lot of good for us booked in January for June and September

Nothing booked yet will wait till the mad rush is over & all calm

Looks like we French and French residents may have France to ourselves this year. Going to be very slim pickings for campsites and all this MH
