chausson welcome
My camper is a Chausson Welcome Fiat Ducato 1999. When I switch on to 50c setting I hear a 'click' and, after about one minute a 'click' from a different place (all clicks are under the rear seat where the boiler is. The system was empty and is now re-filled. I have bled the air from the kitchen and shower faucet, using gallons of water and there is now no air coming through. The gas cooker works so there is gas. The gas tap near the boiler is open (on) so I need a little help if you could please. Already grateful:cool:

Have you removed the outside cover ?

If it's anything like my boiler if I run out of gas it can take an age to get it to fire even if all the other gas appliances are working, may be worth trying to turn it on repeatedly to see if it will fire.

Don't know what exact model you have but even my new Propex boiler can take 5 resets to feed fresh gas through. I guess the pilot feeds must be very very small and my boiler is the furthest appliance from the gas bottle.

Yes you need to take the flue cover off and try a few more times. After it lights if you listen at the flue you should be able to hear the burner and if you hold your hand above the flue should be able to feel the warm flue gasses coming out.

Hi again, I send you a picture of the output vent. It has been silicon and screwed down. I will take it off later. I have been constantly trying the on,off routine trying to get the gas through. I send you the type of gas tap it is. I can access it but cannot see it. I hope I am using it in the On position...when I try to use it in the supposedly Off position...the two "clicks" are much shorter in time! first click, then 5 seconds after the second click. Will send photos separately.

Is it like the picture in post 2?. The first picture is with the cover on the second with the cover removed. It sounds strange that it's siliconed on that makes me wonder if you're trying to take something off that shouldn't come off!

If it isn't being filled then it won't light. Locate the boilers' drain tap and make sure it's in the closed position.

We have a van of the pretty much the same vintage as you.
First - remove the cover as others have said and try lighting again
Second - Even though you have said the cooker works...try changing to a different gas bottle, one that you know is full. Our boiler seems to play silly buggers when the gas bottle is getting very close to empty whereas the hob is ok until the very last drop is gone.
Third - Most vans have 2 or 3 isolation taps all in the same place for the fridge, boiler and hob gas supplies that you can isolate independently. Have you checked these?

Are you getting any error indications on the control panel? Is the red light flashing to indicate a fault state or does it simply not light? Normally, for a gas problem, you will hear your first "click", then as you say, a series of "clicks". If it doesn't light youn should hear another series of "clicks" and then it will throw an error at you.

Have you got a safety switch on the window above the flue?
If the window is open the boiler won’t light,
I forgot about this last year and got really annoyed that the boiler wasn’t working till I realised wifey had opened the window.

Hello Ruby, thanks for your interest. The cover is just a louvered 10x4" aluminium vent. See photo

That is not a gas flue, are you sure the boiler works on gas? A flue looks like the picture in 2nd post in this thread. I advise not running on gas until it is checked, if the gas does light I don't think it would be safe.

You really need to get the correct balanced flue cover as this allows air to be drawn in from the outside whilst exhausting the fumes through the higher part. What you have there is a bodge of the highest order in that when it light s it will be trying to run using the upper exhaust gas fumes being vented downwards to be drawn in where clean air only should be.

This is the actual cover that should be fitted in place of that alli louvre. The one on the right goes over the centre aluminium that you probably still have fitted. The external cover, on the left fits when not in prolonged use to prevent ingress of dirt & dust.

As said it needs the correct cover before you go any further, when a fellow member who goes by the username The Ex-Gasman firstly advises you, then pleads with you not to use it until it's been inspected by a professional it's time to sit up and listen.
