Hi all
On filling the water tank on Hymer b598 PL this morning, instead of the display giving me a level the whole blue strip is flashing. I have opened water tank (it is full) and hand wiped the sensor prongs but no joy in solving the issue.
Any ideas what to try next?
Thank you
Nick

Sorry don't have a Hymer so this may be silly .. can only go off my own mh ... but could it be to do with water not gone into the water heater tank ?

(The first gallon when I fill mine goes into water heater tank so if heater switched on and it empty ..could it cause flashing light?)

Hi Movan, thank you for the quick response. I have just checked and the hot water tank is full. So maybe something wrong with the water tank sensor. Waiting for dealer response.
All the best
Nick

Calcium build upon the probes just gives inaccurate readings.
Just been and had a play with mine, if I disconnect the probe the panel reads as though the tank is empty i.e. no water level showing and red triangle lit. If yours does the same it probably means the EBL & Panel are OK and just a faulty probe.

Thanks Lenny. I’ve done that as you described. Has the same result as you.
I’ll order a new level set.

Thank for your help
Nick

Hi StitchesnFluff I had the same problem on my Dethleffs if your sensor is the same as mine with the stainless steel prongs. Take the sensor out and look at were the prongs enter the plastic housing mine had some hair line cracks between each prong I clean the area were the prongs enter the housing with electrical clean let everything dry then added silicone sealer over the cracks and around the prongs to reseal the area.

Everything has work fine since I think what was happening was the hairline cracks were shorting the prongs out causing the flashing blue light.

Thank you Dave
I’ll try that after the weekend. Stopped over in Dorset in van at the mo.

I’ve noticed also that the water is ‘pulsing’ more than it usd too now

It's a submersible pump should pulse at all unless you have a dodgy non return valve.
Thanks Lenny
Do you it shouldn’t pulse? Or should?

It’s intermittent, so will pulse then sometimes becomes smoother.
Do I need a new pump?

Could be either the pump or the non-return valve. The non-return valve may be on top of the pump they are removable but it's difficult to get them off.
Have you put your hand on the pump while it is running to see if you can feel it pulsing.
Wouldn't hurt to carry a spare pump I do.

That’s probably a good idea, can you recall what pump we need in the hymers?
Is the non return valve part of the pump so if I order one do they come as a complete package?
Thanks Lenny
Nick
Edit: just tried with my hand on the pump, I could not feel any vibration and after having driven the van maybe the batteries have more power in them?

AGM by any chance?
Pumps are sold with and without the non return valve, often cheaper with.
It's a Reich Tandem 19 Lt/min flow rate.

Yes that's the pump with a non return valve, thats a good price.

Yep, grotty AGM I would replace with Sonnenschine or Exide Gels.

Thank you Lenny. Your help Is really appreciated. I’ll get on and order the pump and check out the new batteries thank you, all the best

Hi Lenny, the other thing that is happening is when stopping the vehicle the pump is swinging and hitting the sides of the water tank! Any idea how I fix that? It has never done that before. New pump is coming on Wednesday.
Nick

Mine has a short length of black pipe that connects the outlet of the pump to the outlet on the tank. There is quite a long nozzel on the pump so just need to fix the pipe so the bottom of the pump is resting on the bottom of the tank.

Only know that because I had a panic last week. Turned a tap on, pump running no water coming out I was expecting to see water pumping out in the double floor. Turned out the pipe had come off the pump and the pump was lying on the bottom of the tank. I think the jubeele clip must have been lose for a while as since sorting water pressure is better.

Thanks, I’ve found the jubilee clip I’ll go from there
