We have a Kon-tiki 679. The blown air system is great in the garage and bed area, getting progressively cooler toward the front. The bathroom is probably the coolest.

Is the normal in a 679?

Has anyone fitted a booster/suction fan to improve airflow to the front?

Should add acceptable on gas when the blower fan kicks into higher speed but on electric only is as stated above.

Any thoughts

Pretty much how they are I am afraid.. Thermodynamics in action :)

We always close the vents in the back of the van forcing any warm air forward but unless you do some very serious lagging it is never gonna be great

Well that`s our 13th year & still loving it.
Perhaps time to insulate the flimsy heating pipes, why have the garage heated, wouldn`t that be better routed into the habitation area,, check joints as the fittings and pipework can part company.

Thanks for your comments,

I believe one of the reasons the garage is heated is to make the underside of the mattress warmer. one of the latest warm in bed tips ( no seriously) is to put a yoga mat under it to improve insulation, hence warmth

OK if it's a Trumatic then at the rear of the heater (in the cupboard ) there is the fan and on the back of that is a distribution box with a lever to direct the main mass of the air to the main habitation area or the bathroom Page 11 on the file is the instructions

Found it useful when we winter vanned so we could keep the bathroom a little warmer than it was

You're experiencing the normal difference between using gas or electric. If you check the heater specifications you will see that the output on electricity is less than half that on gas. Electric might keep you warm enough once the van is up to temperature on gas but even that is doubtful in very cold weather. Probably the best way to use it is run both at once - the electric contribution will dramatically reduce the gas used.

Seems to be down to the length of the ducting pipes, our bathroom is always toasty warm , lounge/ front very warm, bedroom not so warm ,
but, having spent a very cold New Year in Derbyshire it was still to hot to leave on over night. We carry a small oil filled rad which we leave on if we leave the van during winter trips. We have to turn that off at night because it gets too warm!
