Has anyone managed to purchase one of these? I can get to the point where I need to set up SEPA direct debit for subscription and it states my current account provider doesn’t support these payments. I have confirmed it with the bank but as my french is almost nonexistent the phone calls to the company have been fruitless.

I am traveling through France into Spain in a few weeks and as I travel on my own it will be logistically easier to have a tag but it needs to cover both these countries

Probably not much help - we’ve had a Bip & Go for several years, and it’s paid from our normal bank account. I don’t recall any particular problems in setting it up with Emovis.

Might it be worth asking if they have have English speaking operators?

When I got mine it was at an office at a toll station, but that was years ago when credit cards were accepted. I THINK that toll stations with tag offices are sign posted as you leave the barrier.

When I received my first invoice under SEPA it generated a load of notifications from NatWest. If all else fails you could try when you get to France.
Isn't there a UK subsidiary of SANEF selling tags, and I thought the tunnel could arrange them.
Frankie, yodeli is very helpful when she's not managing stadiums or baby sitting :giggle:

You need to do it from the UK website. I did it about 3 weeks ago and all working fine.
You have to drive right up to the barrier before it bips and lifts - a bit nerve wracking. The 30 limit lanes are actually more relaxing strangely enough as the barrier lifts snd it just bips as you pass underneath.

Try this link

Although I'm over 3500kg they said I only needed the Liber-t tag for France due to height of van being :h:m ish

Just had a read... in English... and I would think a chat online with an English speaker (on the links emjaiuk has put on his post) would be a better option. Honestly not being familiar with this sort of thing , it reads like a foreign language to me.
Let us know what you found out, might be useful for other UK residents wanting to use motorways in France , or Spain or Portugal

Thanks everyone for your feedback. I have taken a slightly different route having lpoked into SEPA direct debits and UK banks. We are still part of the SEPA (Single Euro Payments Area) after Brexit along with 4 other non euro currency countries. The issue appeared to be that my bank account was not euro based and although banks will make SEPA payments it was the fact that a DD was needed that caused the issue. After gathering information and looking at the length of time that I am intending 🤞 to be in euro currency countries in the next 12 months I decided to apply for a Starling Bank current account. For me this turned out to be a quick and painless process, all agreed and account opened in a couple of hours, they also didn’t expect set amounts to be paid in each month meaning I was able to set it up alongside my existing current account. This then enabled me to set up a dedicated Euro account which was accepted by BipandGo without any issues. The appeal to me of this card is that I will be easily able to move money between my GBP and Euro accounts via the app and use the same card Whilst traveling.

Note that Starling charge a conversion fee of 0.4% when you send £ to € and vice versa so you might be better converting £ into € via Revolut and then sending them over to your Starling account.

Interesting but I still don’t understand why I could join Bip&Go 3 weeks ago with a UK GBP bank account snd you weren’t able to … makes no sense at all. By bank is RBS … I wonder if that’s why. The reason I wanted Bip&Go over Emovis was the tiny tag covers 4 countries.

I don’t know but I am with a different bank and frankly unimpressed by their lack res to my query. Like you I wanted to cover the 4 countries on 1 tag if I could.

Wondering if I have done mine right. Put in my details and my IBAN and BIC on the form. After I clicked done, it took me to the log in page. No email sent to me confirming. I try and do the form again and it says I can’t because I need to use a different number plate and mine must be linked to an account. can anyone help?

You basically need a euro account from a bank based in the EU. I got as around this by opening an account with Wise, who give you a an account based in Belgium, its easily set up online. It works perfectly with Bio N Go direct debits.

We use ATMB in France with no monthly fee unless used and Emovis for Spain/Portugal. Just switch the white block as they fit on the same holder.

Meant to say - I used UK RBS account. Subsequently moved to BoS and still ok.

I did sort the issue by getting a euro account through Starling bank which enabled me to set up the direct debit and everything went smoothly from there.

I just tried to subscribe and timed out while attempting to calculate my iban. Now the website won’t accept my license plate number! It just says “enter a different license number”. Any idea?

Just use emovis, based in Harrogate, no need to mess around with euro bank accounts etc
