BF Poole-Cherbourg route cancelled for this year

Brittany Ferries has confirmed that their Poole to Cherbourg route will not be operating for the rest of the summer.

Company has announced that five of its ships will carry passengers when services resume from next Monday June 29, with a further three ships covering four routes re-opening to passengers in July.

However, the Barfleur will not be operating.

Thank you for that, I really like this crossing as it’s only 1 hr from home, I realised they were only doing an overnight for the return journey but a real pity about the 8.30am from Poole to Cherbourg. For info DBK , I know you’d shown an interest a week or two ago. Hope it restarts later in the year.

In relation to the above, can any Funster affected by this cancellation give us some info.

If you had a booking for the Poole-Cherbourg route this Summer and BF cancelled, what did they do to get you across the Channel.

Was it a question of them merely allowing you to utilise the money you had paid to book another sailing with them, with the obvious risk that the price originally set would have increased in the intervening period between the original booking and the now '"New" price.

Or, did they do something that made it so that you weren't financially disadvantaged.
