Hi All,
Due to go to Northern Spain in September and I was wondering if anyone had a Friends Club Voyage code for BF please? It's a one off trip so not cost effective to join myself. Much appreciated in anticipation.

Thanks Antony

Bearing in mind it is probably taking a liberty with the intentions of the BF "Friends and Family" code to consider that anyone of the thousands of people on this forum meet that category, I would certainly think that non members popping up here to grab a freebee would be a firm "NO" but I guess there are members who need the kick-back they get from BF for sharing and so are less discriminate.

Absolutely!!!!
New member, joined in August and first two posts and after a freebie.
No intro, no hello, glad to join etc.
Where are the manners in basic etiquette and politeness thesedays?
And don't say its just the younger generation.
Too many people these days watching too much social media , with its poor illeteration, and appalling attitudes and behaviour.
Thank god I got rid of mine years ago.
This forum, and a couple of specific special interest groups will do me fine, thanks!

What a lovely small minded person you are, charity as they say begins at home.

When I renewed my club voyage membership, the nice lady on the other end of the phone said, "you have accrued £150 from friends and family. Good stuff, so keep sharing your code".
So Brittany ferries are happy for me to share my code with anyone and I will keep doing it until I reach my 15 limit again.

I had the same comment last week when I rang to amend my own booking.

People have been good enough to share a code with me on two occasions over the last two years. My philosophy is that i would share or assist most motorhomer/caravaner with tools, milk, a jump start, tow, etc with the view that one day I would see a return on the act. I wouldn’t be asking what club they were members of.

the OPs business is round the corner from me, quite reputable

I fully endorse the view of the funsters above that are prepared to help fellow motorhome owners when they can, and count myself amongst them. I have kindly been given the use of a code and am pleased to think that when I use it, its owner will benefit in a small way. Brittany Ferries are more than happy for me to use it, the code owner offered it freely to me and I am very greatful…win, win, win as far as I can see. Its the prerogative of the holder of the code who he gives it to and I cannot understand why some miserable contributor thinks that belonging to this club has any bearing whatsoever on their right to offer it through the pages of the club, or for anyone to politely ask for one.

Don't have a code, never asked for one and don't have much idea how it works so could (probably) have it totally wrong!
Whilst I would try and assist any motorhomer \ caravanner \ etc at any time I do think it's a bit of a liberty when a non-member comes along and asks for use of a code and a Funster provides this and we never hear from / see them again. A bit like going into a charity shop with items marked pay what you think it's worth and putting nothing in the jar!:(
Surely paying £20 out of their ferry savings for a year membership to help support the mechanism that gave them the opportunity to make the saving is just courtesy?
But maybe that's just my ethos in life and I'm wrong!

How can people be so opinionated that they think sharing a code with a non paying member is anything other than helping a fellow motorhome owner out. Please don’t try and foist your small minded way of thinking on others who are less selfish.

If you're referring to my post we both have opinions but these differ so that makes us both opinionated.
The only one doing any foisting appears to be yourself as you are vehemently trying to deny others their opinions.
Please note I haven't resorted to name calling by referring to you as small minded as I respect your opinion even though don't agree with it.
The thrust of my point was you helped out a fellow motorhomer but just wondering why they haven't reciprocated by helping out other motorhomers by supporting the forum that made your support achievable? Just seems a courteous thing to do but it seems we have different opinions on that.
As said, maybe it's my ethos in that others should help each other but not be one way traffic.

I want referencing your post at al or I would have replied directly to you. I think we need to be clear that helping people in this group is frowned upon until they pay a joining fee.
I will continue to help anyone as that’s my choice. Just like some choose to save help for fee paying members.

Whilst you may not have been directly responding to my post by inference it was included in your response.

Not the case in respect of my posts. They could have paid retrospectively as a "thank you" for the benefit received but, in this case and a good few others, didn't think it was worth it. :(

There have been a number of requests for BF codes from "free members" this year alone with a significant proportion of those not taking up paid membership even though they got a code. So much so I think, and I can't prove it, that folk are starting to think of us as "easy touches" with no thought or consideration for other motorhome owners through reciprocation. There was even at least one "free member" asking for a code when they didn't even have a motorhome!
To me there's being helpful and just getting taken a loan of but, as you say, each to their own.(y)

So to be clear we do not help free members according to the replies above.
There are too many free members approaching the group in order to obtain a ferry code.
I’m sure any free members reading the responses will rush to join forthwith.
Gellyneck. Can you please keep me updated as you tally up the numbers getting help/benefit without paying as I’m horrified that I have contributed to such a harmful practice.
😂😂😂😂

Incorrect and I have done so on a number of occasions.(y)

Personally, that's my view as don't like folk apparently taking liberties. Now if they tried to help others as a consequence that would be different.(y)

Doubt it as most of them don't even seem to log on again when they get the code!:(

Awwwwwww, I'm so sorry to have upset you!:heartbreak:

Gellyneck please don’t apologise you didn’t upset me.
I’m sure you will keep making your assumptions on people whom you don’t know and their lack of helpfulness.
Unless of course they join the club.

and we go around the loop of feigning misunderstanding again. :(

Do those giving out codes gain anything?
