Hi,

thinking about investing in a tow car. Prefer an automatic and something a bit sporty that is still small and light

what’s suitable as an auto punchy tow car, don’t seem to be much that’s suitable and even manuals are low powered engines.

anyone got any ideas for a suitable tow car

thanks

I know that you can tow auto’s but the options a few and far between

is there a Abarth auto that’s towable ?

Why an auto unless your licence is restricted? Surely part of the fun of a sporty car is twiddling the gears?
Even better if the middle pedal is the accelerator, the handbrake is out in the rain, and advance/retard is on the column. Autos are as much if not more fun and make crawling in today's traffic almost bearable.

Prefer auto as use to auto’s and can’t be bothered with the hassle of gears anymore. Want more poke as don’t feel like getting out and pushing an underpowered car up hills etc if loaded or on off the clutch in traffic etc
In essence I’m now in the easy auto life

didnt think you should tow an Auto but MX5 or how about a nice vintage MR2 ?
You can’t attach an A frame to an early Mk1 Eunos/MX5 (1993) hense…….

The best 'sporty' cars are the ones with a snickety gear change and you squeeze the throttle just a little more when you see the 'Slow' sign and chevrons on the bend...or is that just me ? ;)

Abarth are all MTA as opposed to torque converter autos. I don’t know if they are towable but they are a lot of fun!

180 BHP in a Fiat 500 is always going to put a smile on your face 🤣

I’ve got an Fiat 500 Abarth for sale that’s ready to tow
only problem I’ve already towed it at 60mph in first gear 😭 by mistake I left it in 1st and then disconnected the battery and its fried the engine/ gearbox not sure what yet it’s at the garage

I’ve towed it loads before this episode you need select neutral and then disconnect the battery

But I’m now going to a manual Fiat 500 Abarth just to be 100% sure
