Best Current VPN For Sky Go In France?

I know that there have been past questions regarding which VPN to use for Sky Go abroad (I assume that this is still a requirement), but as I understand it, which one to use keeps changing, so can I please ask which is the best one now for
- Sky Go on a Windows PC
- Connected to MiFi with a UK EE SIM
- Want to watch the F1 whilst in France

Allegedly you don't need Sky or a VPN to watch F1 anywhere in the UK or EU - or so I was told whilst watching it at the weekend

We watched Sky Go all over Europe last month, just had my Netgear M2 with the EE sim in.
Did have to watch on iPad as when I plugged the iPad into the tv you get sound but no picture, apparently a Sky thing they won’t allow
Sky are still happy to take your monthly payment when you are away though

Yes my argument also, we are moving house in a few months and have decided not to have Sky as the few channels we need are available on Now or Netflix.

Yes, I watched F1 on Skygo, no vpn, but when I got SkyQ I could not get it to work. After hours on the telephone, they said there was a known glitch which they would keep me advised of when it was solved. Of course, they never did.

Note that VPNs and SmartDNS services can be very device specific.
A VPN may work for one person on their device, but not on other devices.
Eg SkyGo and NordVPN works on my Samsung Tablet, but not on an older Samsung Tablet, or newer Samsung phone.

As for watching SkyGo without a VPN in Europe, this was fine under EU Portability rules, where you could use SkyGo in Europe for 30 days without a VPN. After that 30 days, your SkyGo account had to be used in the UK to start another 30 days, or you had to use a VPN. Post Brexit, that benefit, along with so many others, ended. So now you need a VPN / SmartDNS service.

Or use a combo of a good data provider (EE sim card mentioned above) and device.
