I'm off to the tunnel tomorrow with my 21 year old son for a potter around. I'm thinking of heading to Amsterdam for the Friday and Saturday as it will be busiest then.
Rough, vaguely circular plan so far:- Tunnel tomorrow (Tuesday) and on to Bergues to overnight. Up to Middelburg Wednesday and overnight, Delft Thursday and Amsterdam Friday & Sat.
For the return I am looking at maybe Uitdam just north of Amsterdam then back via Utrecht and finally Bruges on Tuesday before the tunnel back on Wednesday morning.
I have tried to keep the driving to just a couple of hours between stops. We will have bikes and the kayak with us. Any of these stops not worth the drive? Any must see places? Tips?

Have you thought of Arnhem? Ww2 history there (Bridge too far)
Also, do a search on here for Techno or Techno100 as he went to Holland and documented a tour all around and added some photos. May give you some more ideas.

Have a look at the photo of the day thread starting on post 23621.
we had 12 days around Belgium finding different things like see through churches and cycling through a lake and up high in the woods.
Didn't get to Leuven though as that looked good and home of Stella Artois

Enjoy. We were very happy with that holiday

We visited a lot of places but it was 2008, and can't recall where the windmills and thatched places with flowers growing on the ridge and so on, 🙄 because we was following a route that a nice Dutchman gave us ..........

Amsterdam is the place I would avoid (You have to do it once though) Gouda is our favourite, after that most are pretty much the same. Utrect is OK if you like the city experience. There is a "motorway" for bikes that goes from Central Station in Arnheim to Central station in Nijmegen without ever joining or crossing a road. It's very unique and worth a pedal.

We have decided to go with the 'no plan' attitude. It's 'Pride' weekend in Amsterdam so we have decided to give that a miss 🤷. I'm going to attempt a little blog thread about the trip, just not sure where to post it?
