BBQing sausages can be a pain in the backside, you get them nice and brown on one side, turn them and they roll back, turn them again and they roll back. Put them side by side as you turn them, and yes they roll back. By now you may get my drift, so how do you stop your sausages from rolling over when your BBQing them. Please don't come back and say you put them between the grill slats, tried that, guess what, yup.
By the way I have a Webber Q BBQ, so you have in idea of my frustration. AAhhhhhhhh

Your calm and collected

Kai, how much and where to buy from

depends on type of sausage, but I shape them till they are four sided before putting on the BBQ or in a pan. some skins don't allow for that though. works ok with 'butchers sausages'

Put one of those disposable corrugated tinfoil trays on the BBQ.

Surprised at your response G-RMPS as sensible folk from Scotland just go for square Lorne sausages!;):giggle:
Of course you are right, goes with the mealy white pudding and haggis for breakfast. However, we're out of stock by the time we get to Toulouse, so are reduced to eating those big fat bu*gers.

or find some sausage forks. basically a mini garden fork or giant table one. each sausage is speared on a tine allows cooking 4 at a time

I did a google search for sausage forks, not sure they look like you described....

I was just thinking needing to find some boerewors again some time soon for the bbq.
You can make yourself or order online.

I love all your suggestions, I may buy everyone just to check the functionality ::bigsmile:. Her indoors has just seen this and informs me it is best to cut them in half first, length way's. . . mmmmm I dunno if she is pulling my thread.

Ah,these 1stWorld problems,what would we do without them! ;)

Isn’t the fun of BBQ ing, fighting sausages and burning steak?
No.
I utterly detest BBQ's and all the rigmarole: Assembling the darn thing, carting all the stuff in and out of the house or the m/h, cold plates, wobbly aluminium tables at chin height and rapidly cooling half-cooked or blackened food with blow-away lettuce leaves.
Can't see the point when one already has a civilised oven, plus having the tedious faff of cleaning it all after the last bottle of St Emilion has been consumed. One of my sons has a gas BBQ - what's the point of that?

Haven't seen a decent one in years, used to get them at a butchers on Preston market which were ok. don't live anywhere near now and don't even know if the market still exists. Miss lorne sausage and the similar but round ones we got from our local butcher. Sister always gets them in when she knows I am visiting. Lorne sausage on a scottish roll proper ones not that pretend stuff you get here. mouths watering.

We were up on North East, guy told me to buy some sausage from local butcher, legendary he said. Next to Bambrough Castle. Forget the name. They were very nice. £7+ for 4. ?

Eat meat or veg but not sausages that a neither. Problem solved. A steak doesn’t roll over ??

We had one last week an absolute bloody disaster as always that why it only happens every 5 years, ruined two Rib Eye Steaks and why oh why do l have to bring the Hairdryer into the equation,as you say what’s the point.
