I have the victron BMV bluetooth app, and also the polinovel app that monitors the lithium battery use along with the solar app etc.

What Im looking for is something that doesnt test my willpower while driving to see what my battery is doing for me NOT to pick up the phone to check the apps.
Is there such a thing that I can attach to the batteries and have a display on my dash will show me the charge going in or out and status of the battery I can just glance at ?

Analogue or digital ammeter/s, see what's going in and out at a glance, cheap as chips on ebay.

My head unit allows me to run App’s so I could down load the Victron connect App

I wouldn’t but if your head unit runs on Android or Apple that would be an option

As you are using the Victron SmartShunt and a Victron MPPT and if you have WiFi on your on your van, then you can use a cheap Raspberry Pi single board computer to monitor your Victron gear and display it on your PC, phone, tablet or the headunit in your dash as I have done. It can also be set up as a vehicle tracker with geofencing as well by plugging in a cheap GPS antenna.

I can also watch TV on my dash headunit, but I also don't watch that while I'm driving. Get a satnav that talks to you so you don't have to keep fully focused on it, they are all the rage now you know. :ROFLMAO:

Nice idead.

But, this is the first time I have found that my Blaupunkt New York 825 head unit will not do what I would like. The bluetooth does not see the Sterling batteries and I can't download an App.

So, no luck there.

I already have a GPS tracker on board with a permanent connection to tracking software on a Raspberry Pi at home.

I like the idea of a Raspery Pi on board with the video output connected to the head unit (and I like your photos), but my RISC OS operating system will not support wi-fi or bluetooth.

As I posted elsewhere, I now have an Energy Meter on board and my solar panels have voltage and current display, so the requirement for Lithium battery monitoring has largely been satisfied.
