I think there is to much emphasis on how good lithium batteries are within this forum,. The best alternative is wind up motorhomes.

I realise that the rather large key in the back of your motorhome may mean the removal of your bike rack, but this is a short price to pay.

If we could do a large elastic band we could also use that for propulsion. The only drawback is if the band snaps it can make your fingers hurt.

We could use some Edwardian technology, why not remove a wheel from your motorhome and replace it with a hoop, you can then propel the whole vehicle along quite easily by running alongside it with a stick. :)
