Hi all my cab battery is dead, I have made the error of not starting my Moho while on lock down and have it sorn so can’t take it out for a run I have tried charging it but still nothing ( but not sure if I’m connecting the charger correctly,) can anyone shed any light on the best way to connect a charger as this way is not coming up with the desired effect any help would be greatly appreciated. I’ve got a ec450 but don’t know if it’s charging cab battery also have solar fitted with a MMPT Pro solar charge controller that only has solar in and leisure batteries wires. Hope I’ve supplied enough info to get some help

What voltage is the cab battery at? If it's too low some chargers won't switch on. Also what charger are you using?

If you have 240 V why are you not using your onboard Sargent charger to charge your battery. Provided you have connected to the battery terminals your stand alone charger should be operating ? A picture of the charger may help.

Hi here’s the charger I’m using

Also I’m not sure if I put it on hook up that it would work but I’ll give it a try thanks

Your charger should be putting a charge into the battery ? Your Sargent charger will be better though ! Why are you not using it!

Does the hook up charge the cab battery?
That charger you're using looks like it will work on a flat battery 👍
You need a multimeter for further tests.

Have now got it on hook up and will leave it a while and report back results thanks all for your comments

Hi all well after having the Moho on hook up its battery is now hold charge and fully serviceable again, think I might get vehicle battery hooked up to solar just in case I make the same mistake thanks all fo your comments and help 👍

I have had problens in the past where a smart charger wont charge a very flat battery. I have an ancient 4A charger, basically just a transformer and metal rectifier which will attempt to charge anything.

I tried two chargers and both were no good at charging a flat battery even though they said they could so hook up saved the day and solar will be best option I’m sure

Yes! If you can, get solar to maintain both sets of batteries and consider what your future needs will be when installing the Solar (You can never have enough solar ). Also, it might be worth knowing that when you look at battery voltage when the batteries are being charged by either solar or a separate charger, what you will see on the display is the voltage going into the batteries and it's easy to assume your batteries are fully charged when in fact they are not. Sadly, its all about how much remaining battery capacity is left that determines the life of a battery and this can not be established with a volt meter. A drop test would help.. Just be aware not to let your batteries discharge more than 50% which will help maintain them and achieve there maximum life
