I have 2 banner 110 batteries which were losing power at the weekend, turns out one of them is dead , so do I replace both or just the duff one.

I'd rid the duff one and see how you get on with the other.
Else get two new ones and use the other for something else.

Places like Halfords or a battery specialist will test your batteryfor you so you can make an informed decision about whether to keep the good battery or not. Personally, I would change both and keep the other for a spare.

Thanks , I think I will replace the 2 of them as Ithink these are the original batteries which will make them 6 years old

And Varta batteries seem to be in at the moment for your replacement....
