I'm after a bit of advice I’ve just brought a Sterling B2b 60amp charger and was wondering which size cable is best to use 16mm or 25mm. The standard is 16mm but after reading through other posts a lot of people use 25mm is this the way to ?

Depends on the length of your cable run, the longer the run the heavier the cable needs to be, as John says they can never be too big.
If starter battery & leisure batteries are less than 2m apart 16mm sq will be OK.

Hi and thank you for coming back so quickly, with the routing it will be slightly over the 2mtrs so I’ll go the 25mm route

All good advice so far. I'd just add that the quality of the crimp connections can also make a big difference. Also obvious things like make sure the terminals are clean and tight.

It's mostly the run from B2B to leisure batteries that matters for voltage drop (the B2B unit itself will compensate for voltage drop between the vehicle and the B2B unit, unlike a split-charge setup). Sterling recommend 16mm^2 for anything up to 8 metres (BB1260). If you've got a fairly short run from the B2B to liesure batteries, I don't see any point in going for >16mm^2. YMMV :)

Once again thanks for the useful advice the charger will be mounted in close proximity to the leisure battery.
Also on sterling’s instructions it says run a negative from the chassis battery direct to the leisure battery as well as to the charger is that correct

Mine was wired with 16mm. Still charged pretty quickly. 16mm would be much easier to route.
(I say 16mm, but it's actually 16sqmm.)
