Does anyone else suffer from constant rainwater pouring between the awning and the van side?

We have a constant stream of water running down from behind the awning and directly above the door.

How do we go about fixing this?
Silicone along the awning maybe?

I fitted a Fiamma door rain deflector to one of our previous vans with the same problem.

I'd like to stop it getting through completely if possible. When I stand in the doorway the weight tips the van slightly and I get absolutely covered 😄

I did the full length of the awning on a previous MH with Fiamma rain guard or something very similar, I think it held it's self in place so and easy job.

Our Fiamma rain guard over the door made no difference at all. You can buy special foam inserts but I used a slice of foam pipe insulation on the coachbuilt to fill the gap between the canopy rail and the van wall. Our Thule in the PVC came with one fitted. Both seem to have made a difference and the pipe insulation was easy & cheap and didn’t cause any detriment.

Ours is an omnistor. I'll look at the mounting when we're home
On our Omnistor there is a grey seal along the inboard edge of the awning. This has a beaded edge one side that fits into a slot on the awning body. The seals get old and stiff then fail to seal along the awning body to van body meeting point. They are available to buy by the metre off Ebay, and other places. Yours will need some cutting in, so keep the old one as a pattern. The seals age very quickly, especially as they seldom get the algae deposits cleaned off them. Some algae moss killer applied neat when dry inhibits their growth, and keeps the rubber pliable. Some sticky backed 22mm white plastic trunking cut down to an "L" shape makes a good drip detail over the top of the hab door, if applied on a hot day you can shape it to a slight radius, thus tipping any water away from the door area.

I had that when my awning was fitted and I had a pop top. When I had a hard top fitted and the awning relocated, I assumed the strip had been replaced. I discovered in this morning’s torrential downpour that it hadn’t, and the resulting stream ends up all over the van floor whenever I open the door. 😖
It seems the gap is now much narrower so the awning drip guard won’t fit (although I’m a bit annoyed that it has just ‘vanished’) so I’m very interested in ideas to resolve the gapping issue as it’s really annoying. Part of the reason for having the canopy is to be able to have the side door open in the rain, which I now can’t do!

Thule do one for them, Rose Awnings and Hill View Awnings sell them.
I fitted one one our last van to stop the crud building up in the gap at the top.

You shouldn't get water running down if the awning has been fitted properly it should be sealed to the van.

All the canopies will fit to-vans in differing ways.
I have just had to re seal ours, the original has overflow pipe placed in the gap then masticed to van edge then to canopy.
Canopy edge had failed
Resealed and covered with some butyl strip

The van is new to us but is 2004 so I'd imagine it's been on there since build
