Hello all you lovely people.

Seen an 2010 A/S Broadway for sale and quite fancy it, one thing that's bothering me is the lack of external access to the lounge sofa space. How do existing owners get round this? Some seem to have a beeny box type affair on the offside and the gas bottle locker, but that seems about it, other than that it looks like a back box is the way forward.! if you know what I mean !

Thanks in advance. Dridgeyboy.

Check behind the fridge vents as they can have splits where the screws are and allow rain water behind the fridge, my 2014 Broadway had 3 lots fitted at the factory and there was 45% damp in there.

Some friends of ours had one but struggled with the lack of storage and also with keeping the weight under 3.5 ton so they changed it.

A friend has just sold an AS Broadway EK model. The outside locker on the near side had reasonable storage as the floor panel lifted up to reveal a drop in storage area. The under seat storage on both sides could be accessed from inside by lifting the frames up and there was a support stay. I guess it depends on which model of Broadway you are looking at.

When I was at the Autosleeper factory having a small job done on a 2014 Bourton they also resealed the fridge vents and told me that they had had a bad batch of sealant and that is why they replaced it.

Wonder how many there are out there that got built with a bad batch of sealant. Whats the betting that the stuff they used was cheaper ..

AS regards storage. We had a Swift with internal lockers. Trying to get stuff under the beds and in and out without damage was always a pain.

The 500Kg payload is not much and you would certainly need to check the actual weight of the MH fully loaded with full water, diesel and a couple of bodies. You may find then that its no where near the 500kg. Adding a back box just adds more weight with the frame and box itself. On vehicles with long rear overhangs it just loads the weight up more on the back axle and lightens the front. Not a good idea. The weight on the rear axle will be limited to 2000kg.

My 2014 Auto Sleeper Broadway was total crap with loads of issues and damp, but I have to say before I got rid of it all issues sorted at factory.
I wouldn’t touch one with a barge pole.

John.
