Have been looking at one of these with approx 17500 miles on the clock, first registered 2011. Asking about £30k.

It seems to tick all our boxes and has canopy, reversing camera and towbar and has the automatic box on a 160 BHP Ducato chassis.

We have no previous experience of owning a Motorhome so what should we be wary of, look out for, examine very carefully before parting with our hard earned?

Look forward to hearing anything relevant!

Not sure of the model number but it’s a 6m long vehicle.

Thanks for the TRIBBY link but can’t make the registration work at present!

Water ingress is probably the one that causes the most upset and expense. Buy a decent damp meter and use it. Don't rely on previous habitation checks or what the dealer says.

If it moves - move it. Get the dealer to show you everything working on the van and check the paperwork thoroughly.

A interesting thread on a motorhome a bit older than you are considering but worth reading:

Bet this wasnt much more than that new 8 years ago

Yes it’s a Trigano Tribute 655 157 and it’s certainly a panel van!

I have a moisture meter but wouldn’t have expected to find too much moisture in a panel van - indeed, that was a reason for going this way rather than a coach built! but thanks for the tip, it’ll let the dealer know what I’m about!

Thanks for all the comments so far - any more info gratefully received.

At 8 years old and 17.5k you may have some wiggle room on the price, a new one starts at £42k, although to spec it up to 150 + auto would add quite a bit to that.

E.g: https://www.auto-trail.co.uk/range/tribute/669

I looked at an Adria Twin last year that was £25k for a 2008 model (there were actually 2 in the UK of that year for that amount at the time) and thought that was also expensive (as it retailed at £32k in 2008).

Then I wandered around Brownhills 2nd hand PCV collection and found that although they were lovely, the prices made me wonder why I was looking at second hand ones at all.

You may find it better to just rent one first to get the feel for what you want as it's easier if you buy the right on the first time and that may help you decide what you value in a van and what doesn't get used or matter.
