Hi,
Does anyone have any experience of taking their van to an Austrian ski resort please? Any recommended resorts with Motorhome friendly parking/aires/facilities (EHU, heated ski locker rooms etc)?
Thanks:xcool:

Hi -
I would suggest searching all motorhome forums - especially
motorhomeski.com = lots of info on home page and info in the forum
All the mountain aires book from Vicarious books is quite useful and has campsites in Austria listed
May be of help if you said how long you have to stay in Austria? Do you wish to go to one resort? or travel around?
How heavy is your van? You may need Go Box if you wish to use Motorways - but you can avoid motorways fairly easily
You will need snow tyres if over 3.5 tons with snowflake symbol -
Most campsites will require ski bus - can't think of any ski- in ski- out
Very few Aires available - and most resorts don't/won't let you stay overnight in lift car parks
All that said - Austria is a really good destination - campsites are excellent - facilities are like 5 star hotels - but they are expensive - also popular sites get fully booked up
If travelling in January then some of the sites take ACSI and Camping cheques - and some of the larger ones have so called Aires where you can stay from 6.00pm till I think 9.00 am for about £10 ish night - we have done this and it works quite well to get to lifts early -
Hope this helps?
Steve

Thanks for all the info. Will have a look at the forums as suggested. Could get a bit expensive if we have to get snow tyres though!
