I was at La Marina Playa just south of Alicante this lunchtime and someone tried to force my habitation door whilst I was in the van. I was surprised because it was broad daylight and there were literally hundreds of people around for the midday swim and beach party.

He had quite a shock when I opened the door, and walked off briskly with me shouting 'Ladron!'

I got a very good look at him: about 1.80m tall, muscular, with a large shaved head. Spanish by the sound of it. He got into the passenger seat of a black Mini off in the distance - didn't get the reg.

I told a passing patrol car a couple of hours later, but of course nothing will come of that.

Some damage to the lock, but it still works. Will get additional locks fitted asap.

Not the best start to the year!

Without checking you were in, middle of the day, busy place? Sound like a bit of an idiot to do that don't you think? Extra security might be an idea though.
