Are there different types of earth?

For example... does the incoming 240 v earth go somewhere different than the 12 v systems earth?

Reason for asking is that it is easily accessed where it comes in to the van’s power management system, could it be used to earth a 12 circuit?

I am sure that the 240v will be grounded to the chassis but I wouldn't use it as the -ve connection for 12v, don't ask me why though other than if you don't know what you are doing don't go messing about in the 240v connections, there must be somewhere that -ve 12v is accessible.

Mains EHU earth is connected to chassis ground, so the negative terminal of both batteries are the same point as EHU earth
