Perhaps

gus-lopez jumartoo know some info on it...??

I don’t think it’s all going to happen at once because the toll booths have to be removed.

Any plans for the tolls to be lifted on the AP7 SOUTH of Alicante, down towards Cartagena and on south into Almeria?

None that I know of. The government took over the 'Vera -Cartegena' "ghost highway" as the developer/management company went down the pan due to lack of income & unable to pay the construction costs. Not that they had even paid for the land purchases either.

You are right about the motorway between Cartagena and Vera being a 'ghost' section - it's always been deserted whenever we've travelled on it.

And only a single service area along its length too!

I would rather it stay tolled

Am I alone ?

Yes ? it will save me €14. 30 everytime I go to alicante airport, ? we use the toll roads in Spain because the price is reasonable unlike France, I don't think they are going to be really busy, but hopefully make it far more pleasant for the people that have to put up with all the noise and pollution in the small towns and villages on the N332, after all that's why they were built in the first place. ? Bob.

Rip off, we only pay €6.25 as for some reason we get a rebate back to our card.

And in the whole grand scheme of things, that is, the cost of what we do and pay In Spain......

I’d rather pay your €14,30 each for the 10 trips or so return trips we do each year to Alicante.

We use the old road at the moment as tolls are something we try to avoid, but we will use the AP7 if it goes toll free..
Ages ago we was going to Peterborough.. Son in law said he hated going across the fens from Norfol cos of all the traffic on the A47

I said when we are in the motorhome we ARE the traffic :-)
Lorries rarely bother me.. rather, we seem to bother the lorries !

No, it's contract runs until Nov 10th 2026. Presumably any change at that time will be dependant upon who is in political control of Spain at that time. Plus the governments of Basque Region, Aragon and Rioja at the time of talks.

I have used it 6 times since it became toll free.

It is much Busier.

I had to go to the Airport this morning at Alicante. Only Gates C30-C50 Were open after the fire on Wednesday.
