No, but tell your friends or who is interested in it to complete a very thorough check with a damp meter.

The Bonnet needing a re-spray, is not a coincidence. Fiat had an issue with paint adhesion Circa 2006/7. Our 2007 had the bonnet done too. It was stripped back and Re primed before top coating. Contamination with Silicone was a prime suspect according to my Painter.

No bidder allowed with under 100 feedback, sounds a bit harsh. Buyer will be saving £3000? On what? What the dealer offered in PX?

Tread carefully they don't call them leaky lunars without reason.

I think the ground clearance is quite low.

beware of leaks and the price should be 18k

Another brand my parents had as my mum didn't like door on wrong side

Swift , eldiss, lunar , bailey ......everyone they had ....all damp boxes

I'd have to ask her but I'm sure the lunar was the one with the fishtank in the overcab

Although a 6 berth it only has 2 seatbelts I think...

c13 years old and only 18000 miles ??? looks a nice piece of kit though for a first timer, however as the saying goes "caveat emptor" springs to mind

Appreciate all the words of wisdom but as I will almost def be collard to look it over I just wanted to know if anyone knows the actual van :)

Not worried... it does not really worry me as long as the belts fitted are in the front and work !
Ours is a 6 berth with two seat belts... our previous one was 7 berth with two seat belts
The one before that was 6 berth with two seat belts

Yes.... Sons van is now 19 years old and has 21000 miles on it, known history.. So many folk seem to but a van and only use it a couple of times a year.. Just look at the example given us by 596 recently
Buys a new van for one trip a year !

I'd be concerned about payload as there is no mention of the weight of the vehicle. Also would it need a C1, again no mention. These are important things to find out.

I've got a 4 berth with 5 seat belts.

Not a concern..

John,

I have had 2 lunars based on that chassis, a 780 and a 786 neither of them had any damp. However a freind of mine has a 786 and whilst there is no damp on the inside there is some rot under the rear wheel arches where it has been subject to spray and the seal has failed so that may be something to check.

The chassis is a ALKO heavy and is plated by lunar at 3850kg the rear axle is the heavy duty one rated at 2400kg and the front at 1850kg it is a paper excercise to increase the MAM to 4250kg. The chassis is lowline and lunar have utilised this to create a double floor that extends across the whole van.

Being a lowline chassis with a long overhang it is easy to ground the tail and I did have one problem coming of a ferry where the ramp finger snagged the rear cross member and bent it. This is due to a poor design feature IMO where the cross member is fitted back to front and so does not allow it to ride over the ramps. I had air suspension fitted to overcome this problem.

We found the 786 to be a great van the dressing room across the back being a great feature. It is really a 2 birth as there are no rear seat belts.

The gas locker will take 2 11kg alugass and the fresh water tank is inboard so no dangers of freezing.

Can't think of much else at the moment.

John

Always get suspicious when No plate is blanked if its genuine there is no need

Would query Cat C :Eeek: it seems it's already been painted, primer colour is a high build type used in body shops, silicon on a production line very unlikely, in a small paint shop for sure, as careful as they might be
not come across it on paintwork thats been done by Manf

Folk do it to prevent cloning apparently but with something that price you wouldn't buy without viewing it so easy to do not history check when viewing it.
Alternatively just ask the owner for the plate.

Despite it being a lunar which just past experience of uk Van's and caravans put me off ....it looks a good van for that money and he states he would accept an offer

I'd pop a cheeky £18k offer in if I was looking to buy that

Worked with my hymer ...

I had a euromobil with flaky bonnet and was the same as that under the paint

those ducatos were apparently prone to it

I had a euromobil with the same issue

And I've seen a few ducatos here and there this year with flaky bonnets

Hi John, if they are looking for a big tag axle my Hymer 754 is available. Has all factory fitted options including garage and pull out bumper motorbike rack, with full service history from Hymer Bad Waldsey. One previous German owner before me and needs nothing. I will stand by this one. You will not find another 754 in the whole of Europe at my price.

Looks to be good value but always consider a damp check before committing cash.
Both my previous and present van have air suspension which should overcome the low level low line issue.

There's something not right about the front bonnet ... if you look carefully there's some damage to the trim under it so I wonder if it has been in a shunt?
