I'm considering a trip with my son to Brescia to watch the build up and start of the Mille Miglia this year. Has anyone been? Is it worth a special trip? Flying sadly, I don't have the time in June for an extended drive to Italy.

Sorry but I cannot say I attended the start but I have seen some of the cars at Sirmione pre race start and also watched the cars come through at the roadside in Peschera del Garda. I found seeing the cars parked on display and also driving past me was fantastic and I’m not an enthusiast!

I can only imagine being at the start would be unbelievably exciting, especially if you are an enthusiast.

Whilst in the area I was also treated to a German car detailing week long exhibition. Seeing all the mods was a great sight. Lovely area too

There was a Millie Miglia museum in Sirmione which was fascinating and that very old town is worth a visit in its own right.

Hope this helps

Thank you. Yes, I've been to the area a few times and actually stayed in Sirmione old town. I agree it's a fabulous area. I've wanted to drive down in the van to watch the start and possibly the finish 5 days later, it would mean at least a two week trip but Covid has put paid to that the last couple of years.
