Any suggestion please for a quiet ski resort, with a campsite for a motorhome Christmas/New Year 2022-2023. Ideally France?. (1 Viewer)

Hi all, Managed a week in La Plagne back in March with a SC apartment (took the Car). However, we have not given up using the motorhome so can anyone help with the request please. Not that Christmas would be quiet anywhere but La Plagne was particularly busy. Looking for a lesser known resort possibly without the usual British tour operators.

Yes camping Le Giffre Samoens France , nice site, plenty hot water and showers ect.
also Samoens can often park beside ice rink/tourist office car park but beware market day, so park as far on the edge as possible. also parking nr to swimming pool.
Vercland has an aire parking nr to chairlift but only a bar/restaurant limited opening times.
Morrilon parking in large car park only public toilet on site but easy walk to lifts.

Thank you for your reply. Just checked their website, no mention of distance to ski lift or bus stop outside etc unless I have missed it.?. Can you help? Assuming you have stayed there previously. Wife won't tolerate an aire. Has to be a campsite.

A quick Google maps search shows the campsite is almost next door to the Grand Massif express lift and about 15 minutes walk to the centre of town.

We have stayed there many times- great campsite 5 mins to ski lift 15 mins walk into the town with many shops bars etc but does get booked up quickly.
They also hire our static vans and cabins if you have any family members want to join you

200m approx to ski lifts, easy couple mins in ski boots flat walk. bus stop outside campsite road vc 8 takes you around into town, but that is also an easy flat walk 10-20 mins. free shuttle, timetable available from tourist office which shows all the routes.

Camping Le Pontet in Les Contamines-Montjoie, in the Haute Savoie Region of the Rhône Alps - south west of Saint Gervais.
This lovely little site is across the road from the main chairlift in the Les Contamines resort. Some nice skiing here.
It is an ACSI Camping Card discounted site too.
