Hi I bought tickets back in April for the retro festival with camping have been really looking forward to it till the weather forecast said how bad it was going to be with gale force winds torrential rain and thunderstorms cancelled my day of and went to work but where is the almagedon they promised now I’m gutted as it did not happen how is the weather on site hope it’s not to severe. forecast is for severe winds Saturday be careful batten down and stay safe.

Windy, it rains a little from time to time, worse winds expected Saturday. The stallholders will suffer with people not coming for the day, which is a shame but music all going ahead tonight.

I saw a sign to this on my way back from a taster event at silverstone rally school (such fun sliding a car), what kind of numbers are at the retro festival? I've just been on their website it looks a good mix of things, air cars, music and so on. Another fest I recommend btw is carfest.

A weekend for 2 with motorhome fun is £145, 4 nights camping. Carfest was outside what I would want to to pay by several hundred. Numbers of funsters appears down to me, but could be wrong.

Plenty here ?
This is just a few in our field, the quest roof dropped last night but that’s about it.

Yes we’ve had rain Thursday night, drizzle last night.
Didn’t stop us getting to the Black Hanger for a night of Jive though ?

Typical festival weather, yesterday was OK but a bit grim looking today. Doesn't really matter as we spend most of the time inside dancing. Dance floors a lot better this year, Black Hanger one sill slopes and a bit sticky, Spitfire good but very slippery but better than being sticky.

Yes raysalaugh good lady twisted her knee yesterday as the floor was sticky.

We noticed how much the one part of the dance floor slopped a lot ?
Spin your partner in the jive and she disappears towards the door ??

After Thursday night my knees were really painful yesterday had to take painkillers so I could carry on dancing. Really gets your knees and ankles fighting the slope. We tried every area of the floor just as bad everywhere.
What shoes are you wearing? Our dance shoes are are raw leather soles but floor still was a bit sticky. Other extream at the Spitfire went flying a few times.

I just wear base ball shoes, it’s a style thing ? and I’m so light on my feet they don’t stick ?

Think she had leather soles but not sure, I’m too much of a gentleman to stare ??

Isn’t Spitfire music 40’s more suited to your preferred dance type.

You can get that style with suede soles for about 70 quid. :ROFLMAO:
Mijhan has a pair of Ari's Allen plymsoles with suede soles she uses at lesson I think they were 60 quid, not cheap this dancing lark.

Yep, DJ plays some good stuff, the bands tend to play stuff that's a bit slow for our style of Lindy we like fast music ( easy to fudge the mistakes :D). We also do a bit of Balboa.
Plenty of people jiving there, give it a try the floor is so much better.

We get bored with the Rock n Roll all the bands play the same numbers and we have seen most the bands so many times.
