Hey all,

I know a lot of you are early risers, so hoping I could grab some of your advice. We are of to view <Broken link removed> Benimar van in a couple of hours. Payload looks ok for us, layout also looks good. Anything you can see from the photos that looks "off"? Or could any Benimar owners enlighten me if there are any specific things other than the usual checks that I should be looking out for?

Thanks as always!
Joe

We have had ours (294) for over 5 years now and found very few problems ,just a crack in the shower tray which was sorted under warranty. But I would check the payload especially with it being 3500 kg I bet it is poor ,ours was so had it uprated to 3850 kg .I know this is not an option for every one . In general they are great vans 👍

What a lovely looking van!
And with access to the loo for all sleeping as it’s mid-way to both.
It must be fairly new , or it’s been very well looked after.
Opened my eyes to this make.
Good luck Joe. Happy looking.

Thanks for the advice. The payload from the factory is 612kg. Not enough for some, I know, but we travel pretty light and the payload is fine for us. I'm aware that the aircon etc will have eaten into that, but it still will leave us roughly 500kg, which we have calculated will be totally fine for how we use and pack our van.

Thanks mate. We are pretty interested in it as it solves a lot of our "wants" without too many drawbacks that I can see. If the viewing goes well and all the paperwork has the right stamps etc, then it could, possibly, maybe...be the one!!

Looks great. We had a mileo for 3 years.

Echo the shower tray. They are very flimsy. Also some of the woodwork quality was a bit iffy, but not much worse than other Van's. We had some panels come apart on the transverse bed but it was not major.

If this is a flap seat that folds away check it for sturdiness, also pay particular attention in the compartment behind the seat here for damp. I think we were unlucky though as lots of the Benimar owners are happy with their vans. They are good spec Versus the money for them.

Check the bed comes down/up looks like a modern rocker switch 👍.
Bikes on back will eat in to Payload.
Looks a nice MH. As gpat says check panels as they are lightweight.
Good luck 🍻

We have had a Mileo 201 for a couple of years, a great van, not as high quality as the Dethleffs we had before, but all round a great asset that suits us. The only Benimar issue we had was the shower wraparound screen broke which was relaced under warranty, but we did have a bigger issue with the Fiat base (particulate sensor replacement).

Weight, number one issue I had with my Benimar, and it didn’t have air con. Advise you get it through a weighbridge before doing a deal.

On test drive check for noise from the drive drop down bed.

Thanks for all the great advice. Sadly, it wasn't meant to be. There was quite a bit "not quite right" with the van itself, the owner was incredibly pushy regarding the sale and the price (even taking covid into account) was too high for what it was and the condition it was in.

The search continues!
