Just had an email from Janiz Chavez. Stating that, can I check the attached invoice (which I have not opened) for £327.56.

The email is headed, PL REMITTANCE DETAILS REF then a long number.

It must be a scam beware!!

If the attachment is a zip file I get about 20 or 30 of these a day to one of my work email addresses. Don't open it!

On and off for many years.
I've had email from a parcel courier asking me to pay an invoice before they will deliver a parcel. Since I am not expecting anything they can go and procreate elsewhere.

You have 2 choices, both require you to not open the attachment, it contains a virus for sure.
1: Delete the email and block the sender, and then forget about it.
2: Open a fake hotmail account and spend the next 2 months wasting their time, maybe arranging meetings in obscure and out of the way places in rural England, which you of course will never show up for.

I always go for option 2 :xgrin:

And .doc or .docx, these can harbour nasty VB scripts.

In fact, any attachment from someone you weren't expecting. Real organisations rarely send attachments, and when they do, they will be expected, and probably in the form of a pdf.
