Good Afternoon Folks,

We have a leaking tap in the kitchen. I’ve taken it apart and although there is some mild corrosion on the top threads, the seals look in good order. I’ve tried ptfe on the upper threads but there is a small leak below the ‘collar’ of the tap neck.

i was next going to take off the lower seals and ptfe in the grooves then put the seals back.

Any other suggestions on this type of tap?

Thanks

The usual cause of a leak below the spout is, the spout has developed a hairline crack. Maybe some water remained in the spout over winter and it froze.

Don't know what type of tap you have from the inconclusive pic !!!

Hi Wagoneer, I’m starting think it is corrosion on the cylinder between the neck and collar seal. That is where the leak is from.

Might have resolved this by adding a rubber o-riing on top of the white plastic ring. Seems dry so far.

I had a leak on mine and I applied silicone grease to the seals and that sorted it.
