4 years….
Morning all

Have had the van 2 years now from new and although I have had the normal services done on the running part of it I have not done anything on the Hab side.

Is there anything that I should do in a regular basis do you think?
I have the Alde heating and hot water system and the van is used regular throughout the year so not parked up for the winter.

Thanks.

Assuming the van was new, I am surprised your warranty is valid without a habitation check. As a minimum though, get a professional to check the gas system, and Carbon Monoxide (CO) or get a CO alarm if not fitted.

Although I could do most of it myself, I pay a local guy to do it as a fresh pair of eyes does no harm to my way of thinking.

Have had the Hab check done by the factory when visiting for warranty work👍

Ever since lighting was by Calor gas.
Seems strange to me why several non-jargon posts have been appearing recently in this 'Motorhome jargon' section.

The heading is mech/ tech general nothing mentioned about jargon?
On my screen it was originally in the Jargon forum but has been moved.

And does it really matter🤔
Not to me. I know all the jargon :) so never open that forum, but it means that unless people use the 'What's new' button they will never see those (non-jargon) posts (which may have been of interest or useful to them).

There are several that have appeared, like this one in the Jargon forum from yesterday which has 66 really interesting replies regarding batteries, solar and chargers.....

It might do, I have several parts of the forum on 'Ignore' including the Jargon one, so if in the unlikely occasion I can help with a question not related to Jargon, I won't see it.

Not sure about the OP's particular model but my Burstner has a 2 year habitation warranty and there is not required servicing in the 2 years. All that is required is a damp check every year to maintain the 10 year damp warranty.

Hab services seem a bit pointless to me. We don't get the house services each year. You can tell what's working and what isn't (other than possibly as you say, a gas check for safety purposes)
