Non metallic side and rear panels on the Motorhome. Best advice with the minimal of adhesion for these awful gaudy signs please…..

Self adhesive, but only peal the very corners to stick and only after applying a good coat of wax then polish, like Collinite wax and Autoglym polish.

I had some paint protection film, so put this on first, then stuck the angles mort onto the film. Worked perfectly even over decals, no issues for 6 weeks wandering and peeled straight off without a mark. If you haven't seen this type of film covering, it is like a thin sticky back plastic, invisible when attached to the paintwork.

I bought 3 magnetic ones as they were the cheapest. Drilled a hole in the corners and put suction cups on them. Never used them mind you, but that is besides the point. Suction cups worked very well during their functional test drive.

I think this is the stuff, looks good for the AM stickers

I brought a set of standard self-adhesive ones off Amazon. Put them on two days before we left for France took them off the week after we returned so they were on a month. Came off dead easy with no marks. A bit of "Traffic film remover" took the edge marks off no problems.

Haven’t used mine yet, but I’ve bought some extra wide Red Electrical tape and will use that to stick to the van as it blends in with the red border of the AM signs. Well that’s the plan anyway!

Either they are very expensive in France or the French motorhomes are very close to their max weight limit. Only saw a couple of signs on my trip last month and they were on mainly non French vans.

I bought two magnetic and one vinyl transfer.
The mags fit straight onto cab doors and put on at Calais and took off in Spain, so withstood the Autoroutes speeds.
Vinyl I stuck to a piece of think checker plate and drilled a hole in each corner and thus was cable tied onto rear cycle wheel on cycle rack.
Mag ones - clean surface first and they shouldn’t mark your paint. I took off in Spain as it didn’t want a colour fade from sun.

I don't think they were ever intended to snare camping cars and I guess the French realise this, even though technically over 3.5 t they need them by law.
Badly draw legislation ?
