I had problems on a Windows machine a while ago. If you Google duckduckgo virus a number of results come up which state that it is a PUP rather than a virus as such but can cause problems.

Thanks for that Jim, I had removed it some time but it was back. I assume it must be installed again with Firefox updates.

I have been using it for a couple of years now. Seems good to me.
