Just filled my lpg system for the first time since it was fitted in March

Popped down to my local Morrisons, found which pump was the lpg one, removed cap, filled up what I've used since fitting and got almost 8 litres in before the pump stopped.

Brilliant I thought, much cheaper than changing bottles, until I got home and found that I'd left my cap on my bumper bar and funny enough, it was no longer there!

Went back over 3 hours later, checked at the garage and all areas around but no where to be seen!

Coming home, on the road, a roundabout and at least three bends in the road later, there it is lying in the entrance of a care home, and totally undamaged.

Lesson learned, and I'll be making a securing cable so it doesn't happen again 👍

Always wear protection ....😁

Just out of interest,is your filler inside your gas locker or outside?

This works for me.

I lost 2 in two months 🤔 so bought a bulk pack of 10 off eBay about 4 years ago, not lost one since 🙂👍 still got 9 left 😁

think they only cost about £2 each though, biggest worry without one is the connection getting dirty I guess

Not lpg but a few years ago we were waiting in the queue at Portsmouth for a Brittany ferry to France when I suddenly realised that I had left the fuel filler cap in the services at Southampton.
I got our 100cc Peugeot scooter out of the garage, helmet on and took off, 60mph flat out.
We had noticed that the West bound side of the M23 was at a stand still from the M3 junction when we had passed earlier and it still was when I got there, it was a case of in and out of the lanes and I finally got back to the East services. I went to the pump I had used, no cap, so I went to the pay point and asked if anyone had handed in a fuel cap, yes, can you describe it ? Well it’s black, OK. I’m on my way again, flat out, this time with the wind behind me.
I got back to the Motorhome just as the queue was starting to move and my wife had spoken to the camper behind telling them they may have to overtake our vehicle. I got the ramp out, slung the bike in, I’ll strap it down when we have to queue again to finally load. Knackered ! What a way to start a holiday.

put one in the van david as mine has been missing for a year

I carry the bag with me in case I can help anyone out 😁👍
Have you a link on ebay?

I couldn't find them by themselves, only complete fill kits

Mine is this style, not the flush version

I filled my Gaslow system yesterday after trekking to a new supplier as my usual Shell Station has taken their LPG pump out. Just as arrived a very large guy in a van swerved into the pump and said ‘won’t be long mate But I’m busy’ he then slid open the side door and revealed three 19kg Calor bottles which he proceeded to fill With an adapter. Told me he was in catering and used a lot of gas. Not only did I need social distance from this guy but how far is safe when he’s illicitly refilling calor bottles. I decided 20 ft might do it and retreated to a safe distance.
Could have been really expensive if the fat idiot blew himself and me to kingdom come.

As soon as you take the cap/lid off put it in your pocket... (y)

A local delivery driver told me an interesting story last week. He was driving down our lane and met a vehicle coming the other way. He braked and as he slowed down his mobile phone slid off the roof and down the windscreen into the scuttle! It had been on the roof since his last drop two miles away. 🤣

Now that's lucky!
