Hi
Problem with our heating in our bessecarr m/h….whatever the ‘stat is set at, the temp will not go above 16/17 degrees. The reservoir is up to ‘max’….. any help out there?
Thanks

If you are running just on EHU it will struggle in these low temperatures, gas or gas and electric is best👍

Thanks for the prompt reply!
As we are new to the Alde system I thought it only ran on ehu. Wasn’t aware that it could run on gas! And both at the same time!?! Best get the handbook out. Thanks again rb62 👍🏼

if it won't get above 17 degrees running on combined gas and 2kw electric then the room thermostat is knackered or in the wrong place as seen in a few vans

to turn on gas and electric, go into settings on the control screen. Select 2kw (if the supply allows) and on the gas symbol

Yep…. Leccy alone will take forever if at all. Gas boost to get it up to temp and the leccy to keep it there

on electric you have three settings, 1 kw 2 kw & 3kw, you need to pree the electric simbol on the screen to increase. Good luck

Had this problem at the weak end and reset the heater this solved the problem.
To reset there is a panel on top of the Alde unit which slides forward revealing some connections remove the red connector 12 volt wait a few seconds and replace this resets the unit. Hope this helps.
See attached.

Did what BillyKonti says and it does work. However, i have found that the thermostat in the aldi always reads wrong. There is a setting in it to offset the temp. See if this has any effect Could go the other way though.

Im no expert! but seems odd.
I run mine only on 2Kw electric (never use gas) with 3 windows permanently vented (day and night). Timer drops the temp to 15 from 9pm until 6am and its not far off my daytime temp of 21 by about 9/10am.

Maybe try setting the stat to max on electric only and see if it does get warmer (indicating a thermostat issue)? (get yourself an separate thermometer so you can see what its really doing)

Then try it again using electric and gas (to see if its just unable to manage on electric only).

Also, if its a double floored van, are the lockers packed full of stuff (there needs to be some space for the warm air to penetrate through to the living area i think).

The 3kw Alde is more than enough to heat the van from cold even in sub zero temperatures. Even the 2kw models will get there eventually.

If it won’t heat up above what you say, there is a problem.

There are 2 elements in the 3kw models, a 2kw and a 1kw. They switch depending on what power setting is selected. It could be the 2kw element has gone down which might be the cause.

You could do with getting an ammeter on the supply and see what it’s actually drawing.

Before doing anything I would try a complete reset, Alde are very helpful if you ring them?
