OUR ALDE HEATING HAS STOPPED WORKING IT IS A 310 WITH A TOUCH SCREEN CONTROLLER IT STILL PRODUCERS HOT WATER BUT NO HEATING I HAVE TRIED ALL OF THE PUMP SETTINGS BUT THE PUMP WILL NOT RUN THE NEXT STEP IS TO PUT A SEPARATE 12V FEED TO THE PUMP TO CHECK THE PUMP THERE ARE TWO FUSES ON THE CIRCUIT BOARD WHICH ARE IMPOSSIBLE TO CHECK WITH THE BOILER IN SITU SO WILL NOW HAVE A LOOK AT WHAT SORT OF JOB TO REMOVE THE BOILER. ANY ONE GOT ANY SUGGESTIONS

Hi Steve..... I expect you have, but have you checked the reservoir...

I believe there is a fail safe switch/valve if the water in that get`s low.. :)

Hi
I would think that as you have hot water ---and the same burner does domestic and heating water--that the boiler is OK---the first thing I would do is wriggle the wires on the pump/put a meter on those connections to see if power is there with pump on continuous.
Is yours the pump in the water tank ??---if so it is very easy to remove, you could then put two wires to it and see if it is working----these pumps are known to be an issue----I have just changed mine.
Good luck
Nigel & Pamala
Edit----Thanks Mo----I never thought to check water level first:rolleyes::oops:

FLUID LEVEL IS OK AND UNFORTUNATLELY THE PUMP IS LOCATED ON THE SIDE OF THE BOILER AND NEAR IMPOSSIBLE TO GET AT.
I AM GOING TO INVESTIGATE FURTHER BUT IT IS ALSO DUE A FLUID CHANGE SO NOW MAY BE A GOOD TIME TO GET THIS DONE A CHAP CALLED GRAHAM CUTMORE COMES RECOMENDED

AFTER MUCH HEAD SCRATCHING AND TRYING TO CHECK THE PUMP WITH A 12 V SUPPLY I WENT BACK TO THE HEADER TANK WHICH I KNOW WAS UP TO THE LINE AS I ONLY TOPPED IT UP LAST WEEK WHEN I WAS MESSING AROUND CHECKING THINGS FOR OUR FIRST OUTING.
SO I THOUGHT BACK TO BASICS ! 1 CHECK FLUID LEVEL ........ALL GONE ADD MORE FLUID THEN I HEARD A TRICKLING NOISE HERE ARE SOME PICTURES OF MY FINDINGS.

Not going to say I told you so....:laughing:

What is it, Steve... a relief valve or bleed nipple. or presure valve.. ?

Don't forget when you refill the reservoir, that when cold the level is quite low down to allow for expansion when hot.

AS I SAID MO I ONLY TOPPED IT UP LAST WEEK SO I ASSUMED IT WAS FULL.
IT IS A BLEED NIPPLE AND IT HAS FELL IN HALF I WOULD NOT HAVE BELIEVED IT IF I HAD NOT SEEN IT FOR MYSELF NEEDLESS TO SAY ALDE IS A SWEAR WORD IN OUR HOUSE AT THE MOMENT

IS THE MANIFOLD ON THE END OF THE HEATERS PLASTIC?

Alde do have a good website with a lot of info and think you can get spares from it. Good job your just about to get the glyco changed, would have been a shame to have that done then that happen. We had ours changed a couple of weeks ago, went for the pink stuff which lasts five years. Good luck. (y)
