I’m looking for some one to change the alde heater fluid from 2 year blue to 5 year pink anywhere around Redditch and Worcester, thank you.

We had ours done last year at Alde UK. It certainly makes sense to go to Alde in Wellingborough, not only do they change your fluid they also check the whole system over including the boiler. A first class facility and first class service, highly recommended.

I'm having my blue pumped out and Pink pumped in at Home next week or so but my Aldi engineer only covers New Forest area noorth of Bournemouth up to Salisbury.

What sort of cost is it at the Aldi HQ in Northants?

probably much cheaper at Aldi ?? but Alde charged me about £250 from memory

but they also went right through the whole system and we had a new pump fitted, we paid for the pump but no fitting, turns out Hymer had fitted a non Alde pump, new one is so quiet ?

One of my pet Hates ⚠️Why is everyone in the leisure industry an engineer ?
I am a Gas safe Registered plumber /fitter and don’t feel the need to call myself a heating engineer ⚠️??
Some idiot last night on another forum was telling people he’s an lpg registered engineer ⚠️
On questioning he has an Acops / STGW basic leisure industry NCC Mickey Mouse ticket he gained in a few days ⚠️
Caravan engineers ? I don’t think so ?

Rds559 I can personally recommend Rob Sheasby who runs Tourer Tech, Lower Broadheath, Worcester. WR2 6QR.
Tel: 07791 017171.
He's previously changed the Alde fluid in our caravan without any drama, and now he services our MH. Decent bloke with sensible prices. He's got a workshop and a mobile unit.

I think you will find its car/ vehicle antifreeze, do you change your car/ motorhome antifreeze every 2 years? Do I have leaks sprouting out my 9 year old Volvo XC60 ? No

A second vote for a visit to the Alde factory ... they are really professional, have all the correct parts and tools, reasonably priced and you can overnight in their yard.
Definitely not worth messing around with anyone else just go to the Alde headquarters as others have said ?
.....and another vote. They also sorted a sensor problem which I doubt that a local engineer could have done. The technician said he had only seen the pr once before but knew how to fix it (10 minute job). Very good people to deal with.

if you want a local place, I believe that both Chichester caravans in Upton Warren 200 yards from my storage) or Broad lane leisure have engineers, but you have to ask yourself why I didn’t use them.......

Alde do a flush without draining the system but put loads of water through then replacing with correct fluid And bleeding the radiators. Draining apparently causes lots of air locks which are a pain to remove

I am no expert on the chemistry of antifreeze but the Motorhome manufacturers use basically the cheapest rubbish available which has a short lifespan of 2 or 3 years depending on manufacturer.
So your brand new van could easily be a year old at delivery so it needs changing the following year ,
The pink fluid which I believe is G13 specification has a lifespan of 5 years and most people change to this .
Having seen and heard of people who have experienced severe corrosion in the Alde heating system it’s not worth the risk ,
Most vans would need to be seriously dismantled to replace a system and I heard one owner say it cost him £11,000.00 ⚠️

Had ours done two days ago at Nick Whale Motorhomes Near Evesham Worcestershire.... great job done.. using all the correct equipment too..

I can promise you that they don’t have the same equipment available to them that the Alde factory boys have ?
Glad you are happy with the job ?

Ours was in for warranty work that a dealership couldn’t fix and got fed up waiting, Alde just swapped out controller and main pcb and sorted the non working booster fan and secondary pump on heat exchanger that didn’t exist according to the dealers ⚠️
They also said the system was full of air from new and it certainly worked much better after they changed the fluid which I asked to be done at my expense as it would have been due the following year ?
Also had the automatic power management system fitted which is brilliant if on hook up as it cuts the power to the boiler to suit your available amperage if you switch on another electrical load ?
Also had another thermostat fitted as Hymer installed the original up high next to a door so unless you ran the system at 30° it never warmed up ??⚠️

And another vote for Alde UK. They did mine and did a top job for a fair price.

I’ll add my vote for Alde UK too.
Had our fluid changed a few weeks ago as the van is coming up to five years old.
Spent the previous night in their yard, all very quiet and peaceful.
The guys there really know their stuff and it was a pleasure to deal with them, very professional.
As others have said, they check the whole system thoroughly and found a couple of things that might have become a problem in the future. All sorted now before we get let down somewhere in darkest Europe.
The system is now running beautifully and is much quieter than before. It was money well spent.

Richard.

It's an all aluminium system. Following the recommendations for servicing is a good idea. Five year antifreeze & de-ionised water isn't expensive. Much better to use the 5 year stuff, stick to changing it at five years, and DiY.

Had our 8.9mtr Hymer done by Alde uk at 2 years old, turned out we have two circuits of heating pipes with only one filler pipe.
A rubber filler/drain was fitted so the system could be purged 4 hours but still only £240 with no dramas and they had all the parts at hand.?

Had mine done at Aldi UK, great service and great guys. Stop in there yard with hook up and water. Nice waiting area. An important thing to remember is that is if anything is wrong or they find some thing because they do a proper check over while their at it, they are Aldi uk so have all the parts right there in the warehouse, no waiting for parts. (y) And yes mine was quieter after.

Much quieter, yes we found the same R

Beg to differ....all that is required to correctly change the fluid is a specialized Alde pump (which they have) that is used to pump the replacement fluid around the system....other than that all that is required is the correct Alde pink 5yr fluid.... they even supplied photographs of the job being carried out....like I said more than happy thanks..

.

It is nice to hear something good about them
We went around a few local Motorhome dealers looking for someone to carry out our service, hab check etc and thought them by far the most professional.... and very happy with there standard of work and customer service...others may have different experiences but can only report on what we found...

In the HQ they had a very large tank for the flush water and flushed it for about 30 minutes, then flushed through with fluid from another very large tank. They also isolated parts of the system to ensure ensure it was properly flushed. He pointed out that this was important as the fluid tends to go where it is easiest

I know exactly what is required and I also know what equipment Alde have at the factory and I can promise you that they are completely different but yes for a dealer probably adequate.
Many of the vans that end up at Alde are problematic warranty claims normally from badly installed systems by manufacturers or bodged up work by service bods ??⚠
I only tried to point out that the factory has specialist equipment and knowledge that dealers don’t have.
Alde boys are also Gas Safe Registered unlike most dealers who are just NCC ??

Which is therefore an interesting question....where do these "service bods" go to be trained in servicing Alde equipment...and if after having the training by Alde if they are not up to the required standard would they actually be accredited with being Alde service centres/ agents.....maybe its a cunning ploy to not train them or equip them well enough to do the job thereby generating loads of repair work for the Alde centre themselves.. interesting question..

Many are trained at the Alde centre but not many, if any, can invest in the type of equipment that Alde use. They also are unlikely to develop, the breadth and depth of experience that the Alde guys get doing the job day in and out.

Lots of Radiators are alloy , I was fleet Engineer for a brewery we never changed the antifreeze on any Volvo nor Scania's from 1983 to 2005 only time we replaced a Radiator is when a stone or something went and damaged them , checked the strength and topped them up yes, some people used to stick their finger in it and taste it to see if the system had antifreeze in , but that is dangerous as once in your body it's always in the Body .
