What's a good thatcham approved alarm for a 2001 Citroen relay elddis. Many thanks Betty

Strikeback or Growler from Vanbitz. Worth the money and the trek (for us 7hrs). First class product and service. Plenty of reviews on here.

I had a Clifford 5 Thatcham insurance approved alarm fitted to my new van by our local guy.
He came to my house and fitted it for a total of £299.
Highly recommended.

HERE is a link to Caravanguard Insurers who have presented a review of what is available. It makes for interesting reading.

Their number 1 recommendation is the Phantom Sentinel system followed by Vanbitz Strikeback then Cobra and onwards.

I‘ve had Cobra alarm and tracker before and had no problems over 9 years. Dealer has fitted a Sentinel S7 alarm and tracker to the new van and whilst I haven’t any experience if it I’m impressed with what I have learned and their customer service and ease of use of their App

Hope this helps BettyMH 😊

Hi Stealaway,
By chance I noted you have a Clifford Alarm. One came with my second-hand MH but no instructions. It is in apparent working order in conjunction with The Peugeot base alarm and key - but no instructions. My neighbours are very understanding but the alarm goes off frequently while I learn by my mistakes. I understand there is a master switch under the bonnet but it's well hidden, perhaps for obvious reasons.
The manufacturer's have been unhelpful. Do you perhaps have any documentation or advice please

I'm not sure it has any instructions but you could search their web site.
There is no master on/off - mine is hard wired into the van electrics
They were very helpful when I contacted them about the false alarms.
The first was an electronic air freshener spraying and tripping the cab sensors.
The second time was the bonnet sensor switch only being pushed by the bonnet insulation. I glued a plastic disc onto the insulation.
When it has a false alarm the number of flash's of the alarm on light tells you what has tripped it. Simply turning on the ignition resets the alarm.

Many thanks Stealaway.
Strange that there don't appear to be any instructions - part of the security perhaps.
So far, so good ie the only panics are when I've set it off by mistake.

You just need to find out what's been setting it off. Mine has been 100% reliable for almost three years now..
I have a look for any instructions when I have a minute
