True, but I'm assuming that year one you would run at a loss
Year two you break even
Year three you make a 'profit' to counter year one loss
By year four you can pitch the price to ensure you have a float for year five
I think your answer is in the reply above this from Emmit, he states the case more eloquently than I would/could have.

EDIT oops another response snuck while I was thinking but you know what I mean, hopefully.

Still dropping clangers and making it up as I go along
Go for it but not just Monday to Friday some of us have to work in the week now and again so weekends seem slim on the ground with rallies

I think if we added up the amount sent to various charities from Fun rallies over the years, it's a significant amount. When Funsters know it's for a charity, they tend to be very generous whilst having Fun. 😆😆😆

Having lived in Stoke Gabriel some years ago where my wife comes from, we would be very interested.
Not bothered what time of year but I know it can get very busy!

Hi All,
After some advice, thinking of setting up a Rally for the Funsters.
We are lucky to live where we live, with miles of beaches and Dartmoor on our doorstep.
As everyone knows the English Riviera is home to Devon's rich and famous and is a well known glamorous destination!

Trying to work out if:
A - There is a big appetite,
B - Would a Z list celebrity from Devon pull the masses?
C - If we did something like a Hog Roast, would everyone suddenly be vegan?
D - What time of year would be best
E - Do we need full blown facilities on a campsite or could we run of leisure batteries without mains?

As usual I am sure I will get warts and all from my fellow Funsters!!!

Simon
We would definitely be interested

Simon-Alan Kerr Just do it!

If you arrange it for some time in June, I could cheekily take advantage of being in Devon and arrange for my annual service and hab check to be carried out at the same time
Lol was thinking the same about combining the service etc with the rally 😂😂

Ver interested in this Simon. May combine it with the vans service etc with your workshops.

My only thing that differs from most is that SWMBO would want access to toilets on site. Not bothered about anything else though 😳😳

Would be lovely. You’d fill it in no time in your location. Very few funsters need more than water and waste these days. The showers at Topsham Rugby club for instance were a bonus as it saves having to keep filling tanks but that’s all.

Brixham rugby club hold a few rallies each year could be one to talk to.
Exmouth rugby club hold Camping and Caravan Club temporary holiday sites, may be worth enquiring. There's also a Weatherspoons a short walk/stagger from the club.

I'd be up for a rally, not worried about facilities as I've got everything in the van and solar.

I think most of us can run off batteries although Grey & Black waste disposal would be very handy. Time of year I would suggest May.

Sounds brilliant please put our names down wonderful to have something spitting distance of Redruth for a change. Just a suggestion but a follow on or run up to another rally perhaps with a couple of days in between works for us as once we’ve made the effort to leave Cornwall it’s good to stay out and about diesel being the price it is lol 😊🙂
