Lots but slow learner.
Hopefully by early next year we will be on the roads in Europe in our new van.🙏
As we most likely will be pulling a trailer with a small car on i was wondering what the craic is re Aires and similar in Germany, Spain etc etc with regards to parking? Are you allowed to, is there space to take ones van + trailer onto the Aires?.
Generally what is the norm.

Depends on the space available, if there's no one else on it what's the harm, but if packed a car and trailer is not a motorhome and if you just drew up with a car pulling a trailer there is no way you could stop.

My experience in France is the majority of Aires get quite busy. Often there is no room for trailers or cars and I doubt they're permitted for that reason.

All depends what time of year you are traveling, in my experience the Aires have been mostly quiet apart from the honey pot ones in the real touristy areas.

I think it's too hard to generalise as they vary so much but certainly on the smaller ones when busy its going to difficult with a car on a trailer and a biggish motorhome as it's going to limit the number of suitable pitches.

I do not Tow now as often as l did ,however,l use Aires without a problem. Do nit take a space that would take a Motorhome and do not inconvenience anyone when parking the Car. I have never had an issue.

Ok, getting a picture. Thanks

we have seen trailers being towed and used
and people having difficulty finding space on aires
it all depends on how you are going to use your motorhome

If you intends staying in one spot for more than a few days then a car is great
or if you intend staying in one more remote place
But if you are like us moving every other days or so
towing atrailer can be a big pain
But little cars ahve advantages
As always wing and roundabouts

We love touring. So would be moving quite regularly. Initially have a destination to head for. 2/3/4 day's on a given site to tour the area in the small car then move on. If the next destination warrants an overnight en route then the likes of aires would be the obvious choice. This is why i ask the question if a car on a trailer would be an issue at aires.
We don't and wont do bikes with peddles or batteries, buses are not always convenient, taxis can be a pain when in the middle of nowhere, so a small car is the way we are heading.

thats fine everyone does things differently
and the reality is
everyone has to do things differently on aires
You may not get onto very popular aires with a trailer
but then you find quiet aires and drive to popular places.
just remember fit good security locks onto your trailer
if you can lock it to the Mo Ho when towing do so
When leaving the trailer with the car on it
fasten it to something substantial as well.
When leaving the trailer empty fasten it to something substantial

I am sure things will be fine
you just have to allow a little more time at each aire to figure out parking
Enjoy

Trailers not allowed on CampingCarPark aires.
We were on 4 differ t ones in August in France and all had at least one van with a trailer and car / bike! Hadn’t heard they were not allowed.

Not all take trailers but the CCP aires that do specify you must prebook and pay an extra fee on top of the overnight rate

You will find a lot of Aires are quite big and rural and will have the space you need and you will find a lot of Aires have a car park either next door or very nearby!
Unless you know the Aire it’s a matter of luck!
