Air Suspension, Dunlop or Rubena ?

We need to increase the payload on our Peugeot Boxer X250 based Autosleeper and I'm going fit an air suspension kit myself and then upgrade the van via SV tech to 3850kg.
From reading the forums everyone seems to be more than happy with the results regardless of which make of kit that was fitted.
I've narrowed the choice to either the Dunlop kit from Marcle or the Rubena kits available direct from various sellers or via eBay. The basic Dunlop kit is £371 and is £130 more expensive than the Rubena basic kit, both with the same guarantee.

Has anyone any comments on the Rubena kits please ?

We found the Dunlop kit to be excellent. Did not know of the other brand as searches for air assist at the time never gave any results for it.

I also have the Dunlop type and been very satisfied with there performance,
good quality rubber and mounts with durable plastic pipes to connect the bags,

Hubby has just installed Rubena on our 2001 Hymer, it has made a big difference to the handling, we're very pleased with it!

Rubena is a company owned by Trelleborg, anyone ever having owned a Motorcross or Trial bike will have heard of them, good name and brand IMO.

Just got them fitted after putting up with the old firestone bags for years.

Very impressed with the length of travel in them, and how easily I've matched the pressures to the load carried.

The old firestones were all or nothing.

I bought the kit of eBay, as you say it's an Italian company.
I was in France when I ordered mine but they would post to England

There is a much cheaper option than SV Tech less than half the cost. I've just completed upgrading our MH cost £150. (JR Consultancy)

I've used the Dunlop system from Marcle leisure and was more than pleased with it, this was on our last Ford Transit based van.
Dealer fitted VB air suspension for us on our Auto Sleeper at extra cost and have been really pleased with it.

Just recently fitted Dunlop kit from Marcel leisure then uprated via JR Consultancy which was less than half price of SV tech.
Our van is Fiat base Auto-trail Tracker FB 2015 gone through DVLA etc OK now at 4050kg from 3650kg with no other changes.
Just done about four half thousand miles France Spain and Portugal no problems at all rides great round traffic islands and overtaking big trucks does not suck in as much as it did before.
Over the trip the system did not lose any air pressure.
Nearly sure that we have 5 yrs gtee on Dunlop air bags don't remember any others having same gtee.
Marcel were 1st class to deal with ordered 4pm delivered 9am next day.

I fitted the Rubena kit and very pleased with it. I also wanted to inflate each bag independently so bought a second gauge/filler, this was only £20 extra so well worth it.

i thought you could upgrade to 3850 without air even on the lighter chassis have you checked you need it??

Rubena comes with a "No leak guarantee" ..

I'm pleased with my kit, I ordered and fitted it whilst house sitting in France and I would have bought from Marcle but they wouldn't post outside UK so went for the Italian job which was also cheaper and came with twin gauges.

How did you run the pressure lines to make them easily available, and where did you attach the bracket supporting them

Had the Dunlop system fitted two years ago. It works fine. OK, a small amount of air loss over a period of a couple of months, but hey...........

I think mine was the Rubina kit, certainly looks the same as on the link on your post. It was easy enough to fit myself and I was impressed with the products engineering. I set it at 40psi and it didn't loose any pressure on our trip down into Spain. The increased handling qualities are outstanding!

@maison Both my gauges are on the driver side step and the pressure lines are run through the back of the step down through the floor, my lines are housed inside a length of hose pipe to protect them and cable tied to various points along to the rear axle.
